Animal Therapy

Those of you who know me well are aware that I love animals!  I think the pet therapy programs for hospitals, the disabled, children, the abused and the elderly is something that is very much needed, and we should have more.  I have heard of cats, dogs and horses being used to help the sick and lonely...with amazing results!  The beautiful thing about animals is that they love unconditionally.  Unconditional love is a wonderful thing that can do astonishing things.  I have read and heard about the sick and elderly responding very positively when an animal is brought into their presence.  Their blood pressure and heart rate lower, they are calmer and respond remarkably well.

Thank you all for visiting me here today, and please feel free to comment with any of your stories on pet therapy.

when my Mom was in a rehabilitation facility after her hip replacements, we were allowed to bring our dogs to visit her. She was so surprised when I walked into her room with my golden retriever, Ben. She just loved it.
