This next ad...I thought it was a beautiful ad. I hadn't heard about either of these products until I saw these ads.

This next product is one that I remember well...Hires Root Beer. What I didn't know back then was that it had real ginger in it...so that is why it had that punch to it. It was a good drink. I don't know whatever happened to it, though, I haven't seen it for decades.

That first ad is really dumb!!! It looks just a bit like Taylor and Burton! Of course it can't be, they hadn't met back then and also never needed to do commercials. The only product I remember here is the Hires.

ReplyDeleteI do remember Tipalets...and they still sell the same cigar under different names today. It is a stupid ad. I mean who would want smoke blown in her face? The only other ad I remember is the Hires Root Beer one. I wonder what did happen to that brand. It was good root beer. I was not aware of the ginger so once again I've learned something on your blog!
