I found a purse/handbag on the bus over a week ago. I had gotten on the bus, chose my seat, and as it turned out, there was a purse on the seat next to me that was unattended. I kept an eye on it and waited just a couple of minutes, in case the owner of the purse was still on the bus and had just changed seats before I boarded the bus. This was not the case, so I brought it to the bus driver and told him that I found this handbag on the seat next to where I was sitting. He thanked me, and when he got to a bus stop he took a moment and called the bus company to tell them that somebody had found a purse and turned it in to him. He described the purse. It turns out the that lady who had left it on the bus was frantic and was looking for it and had called the company. So her purse was returned to her, safe and sound and untouched. She told the bus company to please thank both the passenger who turned it in as well as the bus driver.
When I boarded a bus yesterday I had this same bus driver who remembered me...and told me that the lady was very happy and relieved and he passed on her "thank you." It felt so good, and I am glad that I was the one who found it. :)

Most cows seem to love classical music. This makes the famous phrase true! "Music has charms to soothe the savage beast." Of course I would not call a cow a savage beast, but still...You are a HERO! And a just plain good person!
ReplyDeleteThat seat was waiting for you, and bumpy roads, so true.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't that just make your day when you can do something so special for someone you don't even know??
ReplyDeleteIt always feels good to know that a good deed we do was appreciated! Good job Linda!

ReplyDeleteHello Linda!:) I can imagine how grateful the lady was when her purse was returned. Good job Linda! It feels good just reading about it! Cows do like music strangely enough. We play soothing music when our cows are calfing. Loved the Moorhens sharing, and the affectionate dog.

ReplyDeleteI loved the video about the disabled skiers! I've seen people with one leg and in sleds at ski resorts. I've always thought that if I became disabled, I'd do the same thing!

Hello Linda! Thanks for visiting my dog Párek's blog.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is really interesting and beautiful. It is very enjoying to read your lines and I surely will visit here again.
Hello again, dear Linda! These videos are inspiring. I don't think the dog and the cows are really "in love," but it is nevertheless a great example of symbiosis, creatures of different species helping each other. Apparently, the cows line up to have their snouts licked and to lick the dog because it is an enjoyable method of cleaning and grooming. I was also happy to see the cows enjoying a violin concert which no doubt soothes and comforts the animals. It was also fascinating to see those birds sharing food instead of greedily gobbling it up as one might expect them to do.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, dear friend Linda!
Such a nice story!

ReplyDeleteIt is nice that the bag is back with the owner Linda, well done!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing you were in someone's life! You know, someone moved a grocery cart out of the way of my car yesterday while I was trying to park. I never asked her to do it, she just did it. It's weird. But it made my heart smile. In a world where people seem cold and distant and uncaring, an act like that can restore a person's recognition of good in the world.
ReplyDeleteGreat videos about animals !
ReplyDeleteGreetings
You are a good egg.
ReplyDeleteThe video with the cow and the dog is really cute...wonder what the attraction is?
ReplyDeleteDear Linda,

p.s. The world should have more gentle and kind souls such as you.. To guide the purse back to the lady... I am sure she is so very thankful.
ReplyDeleteYour adventure with the purse has made my evening. What a beautiful story. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from London.
I'm so glad you found that purse, too. How pleased you made the owner.
ReplyDeleteOne good deed deserves another or as they say, what goes around comes around. You will be abundantly blessed for returning the purse.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, many years ago I lost a little purse that I carried on my shoulder (it slipped off and I did not know.)
ReplyDeleteWhen I go home I realized what had happened and called the grocery store I had been shopping in and they asked my name ... I went to the store and it was returned to me ... a very honest person had found it and turned it it.
I was terribly glad as I had been to the bank and had taken out $500 and it was in my little purse!
I found out who the person was and gave him a reward (he worked in the store)
I love honest people!!!
Your story made me smile :)
Loved the video with the cow and the dog!
xx
