I have done a variety of jobs over the years. When I was in high school, my best subjects were French, English and typing. By the time I graduated high school in 1973 at the age of 16, I typed 60 words per minute. I was at the top of my class. I now type approximate 80-90 words per minute. Friends who have seen me type say that I am extremely fast and accurate.
Because my typing skills were so good, I was offered a job almost immediately after graduating high school. I have worked as an office clerk, a receptionist, as a sales clerk in retail stores, as a manager in retail stores, and I have also cleaned empty apartments for a property management firm. I have supervised electricians on a project to upgrade apartment buildings for a property management firm.
I guess you can say that I have worn many hats. :)
Thanks so much for listening.

Poor Woody! My last dog, Cleo, was a rescue. She was brought out of a trailer that had 65 dogs. Some were already dead, and some were locked up underneath the trailer, held in by the underpinning. She was the best dog ever - and she looked a bit like Woody. We had her for 18 1/2 years. I still miss her, but she had a long life and was loved.
ReplyDeleteYou wore many hats! I guess if you are an excellent typist, the world is yours! That Pangolin looks like part armadillo and part anteater!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda

Good morning, dear Linda! There are some extraordinary video stories in today's post. I have read about dogs remaining faithful to their owners after the owners have died, even standing guard over their lifeless bodies. It was wonderful to see poor Woody rescued, shaved, cleaned up, given food and tender loving care and adapting to his new surroundings. I have never seen anything like the boy who openly expressed his love and devotion to his special needs sister. It was absolutely heartwarming and gives me hope. I never heard of the armored anteater, the Pangolin, and it amazes me how nature has given it the tools and defenses needed to uncover and consume its prey.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, dear Linda!
I am truly the world's worst typist:)
ReplyDeleteYou have accomplished much. Great typing then. I too did 60 words etc. at school, can't say my accuracy is good these days.
ReplyDeletethank you for the sweet inspiration today! I, too, love to type. Instead of being proficient in French, Linda, I excelled in Spanish - lately, it hurts my fingertips to type, so I've not been doing as much of it. Thank you for sharing your life events, and the wonderfully uplifting finds from the internet! hugs, de

Love the quote from Eleanor Roosevelt. I love any quotes from this great lady!
ReplyDeleteI graduated in '89. We were the last class who had an option to use a typewriter instead of computer...I chose computer. Who knew typing skills would be so much used in the world.
ReplyDeleteYou have worn many hats. Awe...I love you sharing about typing. Are you ready for this...when I graduated high school in 77 I could type 92 wpm with no mistakes. Apparently that was a big thing to most people cause as with you...people would ask me HOW CAN YOU DO THAT? But my papa bought me my very first typewriter...yes, typewriter (LOL) when I was in 7th grade. I type a lot now and still pretty fast...but nearly as fast as I once was! Good for you girl..glad you can still type fast! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteHaha...I disagree with Keith!
ReplyDeleteI think I must be the world's worst typist...I can only use two fingers, and it takes me forever!!
So, hats off to you...in total admiration!!! :)

Enjoyed all the videos. I was all right until the brother started to cry then I started. She is a lucky girl to have a devoted brother. Enjoyed all the quotes. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteYou have various work experiences, which is wonderful! I learned to type after I graduated school and got job. Took a while to the point I could type without looking at keyboard.
