These are a Few of My Favourite Things!
Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all! Today's post will be a bit different from the ones I usually share, because I will be sharing some of my favourite things with you all! The videos I have selected for this post are: A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire
The following are some of my favourite songs. This first song, "To Sir With Love", by Lulu, has been one of my favourites for quite some time. I also love the movie "To Sir With Love", and Sidney Poitier is one of my favourite actors, as well!
This next song, "I'll Follow the Sun" by The Beatles is another favourite of mine.
Another favourite song of mine..."Kodachrome" by Paul Simon. I love this one for many reasons. It came out when I was in high school, and I have always loved colours, and it is just an upbeat song!
This next song will probably be the least recognized by you all. "In the Summer Sun of Greece" by A La Carte! I have loved this song for many years, I love the outfits the singers are wearing, the way they dance and harmonize together, and the song is so upbeat and happy! I also love the relaxed setting in the video, too! A friend of mine, who had never even heard of this group or the song, listened to it and watched the video and told me that this group reminded him of Abba.
I hope you have enjoyed some of my favourite songs! For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view. When others try to rain on your dreams, carry an umbrella and dream on! (I love the rain and I love the colours and birds in this). :)
No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite. - Nelson Mandela (a great man)
Someone named Cameron Harris made this with Candy Water's art, and it was on her Facebook page. I thought it was beautiful, and, of course, I love Candy's art!
Love can be all over the place. It is around you right now.
If we could look into each other's hearts and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance and care.
I love animals...all animals. But there are dog people and there are cat people. I'm a cat person. I'm just intrigued by cats. I can sit and watch them for hours. They just amaze me! - Dick Van Patten
I love Heidi Shaulis' paintings, and the expression on this cat is so sweet! :) I have a 2 year old male black and white cat named Romeo, this this cat looks kind of like him. Romeo has a "white diamond" on his forehead, just like this cat, and he has green eyes, too. :)
Thank you all so much for visiting me here! I hope you enjoyed this special post of some of my favourite things! I always enjoy and appreciate reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share.
coucou avec deja de la chaleur et cette fois enfin un ciel bleu une vraie journée d'été ... je file au parc essayer de faire des photos de papillons bisous
I watched the movie "To Sir with love" a few times at the cinema. I think it is available on youtube, the full movie. I also saw Lulu live in concert at the National Theatre in Singapore, 1973.
Ha, your video of LULU reminded me of a friend I once had who's name was Lucille. She wanted to be called Lulu. We lost contact for about 15 years and when I saw her I called out Lu. She didn't answer so I called out Lu again. She came up to me and admonished me, "I'm not called Lulu anymore, it's Lucy now, I'm grown up." I didn't dare stand up for myself and say that I hadn't called her Lulu but Lu twice. LOL I wonder if the artist LULU feels the same way. LOL Just a though. Enjoy your day.
Bonjour Linda, J'aime bien la chanson de Paul Simon et de À la carte, c'est vrai que ça ressemble vraiment au groupe ABBA (˘◡˘) ♥ un groupe que j'adore également!
Good morning, dear Linda! Your favorite songs are among my favorites! In 1987 I used the song "To Sir With Love" in a 60 minute documentary presentation that I produced. I agree with the friend who insists that the girl trio A La Carte sounds a lot like ABBA. Surely they drew their inspiration and style from that Swedish super group. Thank you for remembering animal lover Dick Van Patten, another famous figure from the days of our youth who has passed away.
Some great ol' songs here, Linda. Love the Beatles and Simon's "Kodachrome" was always a favorite of mine. I'd not heard of Al la Carte, but I liked their energy ... lots of fun!
Good morning Linda. The Beatles were the group that I really enjoyed. I remember seeing them on the Ed Sullivan Show with my parents. Those were the days I'll tell you. Dick Van Patten just died. What a wonderful man & actor. Have a wonderful Tuesday my good friend. See ya.
Enjoyed all the songs. To Sir with love was a good movie. The last song was great I had not heard it before. Great quotes. Have a blessed day. Madeline
Thanks for the walk down memory lane, Linda! I've always loved the words from To Sir With Love. Every kid deserves a high school teacher like that. Loved all of your choices today!! Thank you!!!
I love The Beatles! I have several CDs! I'll follow the sun is a great song! I didnt know the Kodachrome was song by Pual Simon. I have never heard of A La Carte but they have great voices...very catchy song! I also love ABBA!
