Friday Fulfillment and the New Poll!
Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all! I posted a new poll a few days ago, which you will find at the top right hand column of my blog. It is asking you all what your favourite animal(s) is/are. You can vote for more than one animal, if you wish, as many as you like. Thank you all so much for voting in my polls, I really appreciate it. :) The videos I have selected for this post are: A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire
Petticoat Junction - Pat Woodell - All Those Endearing Young Charms (Pat plays the role of Bobby Jo on Petticoat Junction) :)
Toddler Saved from Bear
Janice Loo Malaysia Glass Harp Melody
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view. Be the reason someone believes in the goodness of people.
When we demand something from someone, but give nothing in return, it's called selfishness. When we give but expect something in return, it's called networking. When we freely give and demand nothing in return, it's called love.
Life is like a camera...focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don't work out, take another shot.
I voted horses, even though I have been afraid to ride them since childhood --and we owned horses back then-- I have always thought them beautiful. Also voted elephant, partly because my daughter has always loved them and, when she was only 5, persuaded me to ride one with her when a traveling circus set up tents near our property. I am 65 now and have not yet ridden a horse. Perhaps it's time I tried.
I voted! I love the quote from Karen Salmansohn, very good point. Losing weight can't be good if you lose health! Lobster tales image is so cute :-) Have a wonderful weekend xoxo
I voted in your new animal poll. (May I include a write-in vote for Eric Burdon and the Animals? :) I wish I could pour that super strength potion into my morning coffee very day. :) Dogs and cats have been known to protect their owners by driving away much larger wild animals. This video proves it. You must have been a fan of those three related TV shows of the early 60s, The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres and Petticoat Junction. I watched all three, too. I just read more about Petticoat Junction. There were numerous cast changes during its run. The first two black & white seasons, starring Pat Woodell as Bobbie Jo and Jeannine Riley as Billie Jo, are most coveted by fans because they have never been in syndication.
Thank you, dear friend Linda, and have a wonderful weekend!

Paul VERLAINE (1844-1896)
En septembre
Parmi la chaleur accablante
Dont nous torréfia l'été,
Voici se glisser, encor lente
Et timide, à la vérité,
Sur les eaux et parmi les feuilles,
Jusque dans ta rue, ô Paris,
La rue aride où tu t'endeuilles
De tels parfums jamais taris,
Pantin, Aubervilliers, prodige
De la Chimie et de ses jeux,
Voici venir la brise, dis-je,
La brise aux sursauts courageux...
La brise purificatrice
Des langueurs morbides d'antan,
La brise revendicatrice
Qui dit à la peste : va-t'en !
Et qui gourmande la paresse
Du poëte et de l'ouvrier,
Qui les encourage et les presse...
" Vive la brise ! " il faut crier :
" Vive la brise, enfin, d'automne
Après tous ces simouns d'enfer,
La bonne brise qui nous donne
Ce sain premier frisson d'hiver ! "
Fortunately it ended well with the toddler.
ReplyDeleteThat Malaysian girl is playing a Chinese New Year song using glasses filled to certain levels with water. Nice!
