Monday Shares and The Blind Side
Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all! You are all probably wondering what "The Blind Side" in the title of my post today is. I watched a movie on Saturday and this was the name of that movie..."The Blind Side". It is a fantastic movie and I highly recommend it for those of you who may not have seen it. To be brief, it is about a black homeless and traumatized boy who ends up getting taken in and adopted by a lady and her husband, who have two children. (a white family). This movie is based on the true story of Michael Oher, a pro-football player. It shows how anyone from any background can excel with the help of people who love and believe in them. The videos I have selected for this post are: A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire
You Make Me Feel so Young - Frank Sinatra 1956
Bear Saves Crow from Drowning
New Dinnerware Concept Never Requires Washing
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view. Kindness is contagious. It brings joy to those that give it, receive it and witness it. Spread some today.
You cannot change how others treat you. Sometimes they won't be so long. But you can change how you react to it all. Be sure to respond in a way which shows love for yourself, and don't beat yourself up over how they're beating up on you. Be good to yourself, even when others aren't. Especially when others aren't.
Why look for yourself in the past or in the future? It requires no time to be yourself...you are valuable just because you are alive, not because of what you have achieved or not yet achieved. This natural contentment is who you truly are.
Thank you Linda for this wonderful post. This is what I like: Happiness is not a stage to arrive at, but a manner of traveling. Have a good week. We will be travelling today to Turkey for holiday.
Good morning, dear Linda! That gag video reminds me of the many times I have been distracted by a pretty woman. I don't remember knocking over any tables but do remember getting an elbow to the ribs from Mrs. Shady. :) God bless the lifeguard bear for saving the bird from drowning. The poor bird looked exhausted. I hope he was able to recover and fly away to safety. The futuristic dinnerware that never needs washing seems like a marvelous idea but I can't quite understand how it cleans itself.
The Blind Side IS a good movie...except for a few crude spots. But the story is terrific. That was so interesting about the bear and the crow. I can imagine the terror the crow must have been feeling.
Love that movie! We just saw it the other day. I didn't think I would like it but I was wrong! The bear and crow video is wild. And give me Sinatra over any of today's so-called "music."
Linda, I am so glad to have a Canadian visitor at Nanaland. I love The Blind Side as well. My Memphis relatives know the Touhys who took in Michael Orr. They truly are a wonderful family so I hear. I know that Leigh Ann has a new book out and I will be looking for it at the library. I will be following your blog!! Blessings!!
Hi Linda! :-) The Blind Side sounds like a wonderful movie that I think we should put on our list. We don't watch a lot of movies, but it is always good to hear of a great one. That video on the girl hyotonizing the men was quite humorous, especially the reactions on those men's faces. Thank you for the laugh. And the bear saving the bird...aww... It's always a delight stopping in for a visit~ and thank you for your visit this morning, it's always a joy to see you. :-) Much love~ Debbie
