Wonderful Wednesday
Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all! The videos I have selected for this post are: A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire
Loretta Laroche - Pessimism vs Optimism
Toronto HD - Canada Geese
Hazel - Rare Vocal Theme Song
Cendol (Thirsty for)
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view. You can be hopeful, or you can be fearful.
Sometimes the cracks may show, so too does the light and growth that has developed because of those cracks. Through the difficult, comes change and new life, bigger and better than before!
Being vulnerable doesn't have to be threatening. Just have the courage to be sincere, open and honest. This opens the door to deeper communication all around. It creates self-empowerment and the kind of connections with others we all want in life. Speaking from the heart frees us from the secrets that burden us.
Please know that although you might be struggling now, some day you will look back and realize what you went through changed your life in many ways for the better.
Hi Linda - I'm always impressed by the work you put in on your posts and, of course, it's ALWAYS there to brighten people's lives. Enjoyed the escaped convict (but how do these people make money?) and thought Ms Laroche (who I've not heard of) did a good job of the 'glass half full/half empty' thing. All the very best to you!
Good morning, dear Linda! i am enjoying Loretta Laroche and her motivational lectures. She discusses the same material that I learned in the 1980s when I immersed myself in the personal growth seminar movement. I love watching the footage of those Canadian geese. I tried an experiment. I turned the sound off so that the music would not influence how I feel about those birds. Watching them silently made no difference. I was still deeply touched by their beauty and dignity. I haven't thought about Hazel in a long time but it was another of my favorite family TV comedies. I'm sure that Loretta Laroche would call Hazel an optimist. Actress Shirley Booth lived to age 94. I enjoyed her 1958 movie Hot Spell in which she starred with Anthony Quinn and Shirley MacLaine. She was a wonderful actress!
Well I love it all my friend and especially the Faith Conquers Fear! I needed that since I had committed to a Mission Trip in Feb. to Nicaragua. Seems that every fear you can imagine wants to LURK! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
OMG! So many today that I just love! I might steal a few. I especially like the one about vulnerability and the one about getting on one's own nerves! Deb
I still watch the old Hazel shows whenever I have the opportunity. I liked the quote about knowing you're stressed when you start getting on your own nerves.
Oh Linda...that "Hopeful" quote could have been posted especially for me today...and the struggling one (with the rainbow)... We have just received a time frame for my husband's heart operation...it won't be long now...and I'm truly scared...:/
Thank you so much for all this wonderful comfort and inspiration I always find here. This is my sanctuary...xoxoxo
Hi Linda, thank you for visiting and commenting on my blog, I liked the Loretta Laroche video, I am definitely a glass half-full person and not a glass half-empty person. Have a great day!
LOL! Loved the gag and the Hazel clip! The Karen Salmansohn quote is so true; my darkest hours have led to a stronger me and positive outcomes. You just have to have the faith to move forward in the dark! Have a happy day!
Great selection again Linda. Growing up in the UK I had never heard of Hazel before and haven't seen it on the TV like many others from that time frame. Wonder if it's still shown anywhere?
My darling Linda, I've enjoyed the HAZEL's video so much, I love that age, the kind of programs which were on tv before I were born, thoso chorus and music are so very lovely and joyous ,, I think that during that age there was much more optimism in the air, what do you think about it ?
And how about the images ... well, I cannot choose, they're all so beautiful and inspiring !
Thank you for the blessing my heart with joy every time I come and visit you, my sweet friend sending love and hugs
That saying about seeing people's real character in the worst times is so true! I often think first dates should be planned so that something goes wrong - you'd get a snapshot of what you're potentially getting into.
I love these. Especially the one about being cheerful. I have something coming up that I'm worried about and I need to remember how lucky I am to even be able to have the opportunity.
Oh, I love that stressed out bird. He needs a little love, doesn't he? I also like the quote, "it's during the worst times" ..........and I think that's so true.

Love all of today's quotes! Sorry I've been absent - I've been on vacation.

Very funny gag today! And the LaRouche video reminded me of what one of my psych profs, "Everything we think is most personal is most universal."
