Wednesday Wonders
Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all! The videos I have chosen for this post are: A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire
Armless Painter uses Feet to Create Amazing Art
Alvin and the Chipmunks - Christmas Song
Teenager Starts Kind Club to Honor Late Father's Kindness
Someday We'll Be together - Diana Ross and the Supremes
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view. Strength grows in the moments when you think you can't go on, but you keep going anyway.
It's upsetting to think one day the people we love won't be here on this planet. Appreciate your loved ones while you can, because none of us are here forever.
I won't back down. No, I won't back down. You can stand me up at the gates of hell, but I won't back down. I'll stand my ground. Won't be turned around. I'll keep this world from dragging me down. Going to stand my ground. - Tom Petty
The voice in your head is something you are watching, it's not something that you are...as you are watching, see if what that voice is saying is really helpful or is it just a neurotic voice talking in your head. - Michael Singer
Linda, thank you for your sweet visit. You have gathered some really good quotes here. I especially like the one about being different. I also love the cat one. That's so true. Merry Christmas xoxo Su
The armless woman who paints with her feet is indeed an inspiration, reminding us to live up to our potential. I was touched to hear her young son speak such kind words about his mother and the quality of her artwork. Alvin and the Chipmunks were climbing the chart with their novelty number "Christmas Don't Be Late" in December 1958. At Christmas time 1969, Diana Ross & the Supremes were on their way to #1 with "Someday We'll Be Together," one of my favorites by that Motown super girl group. My favorite video in this post was the one profiling the girl who spreads kindness in memory of her father. Both of those young women are outstanding representatives of the younger generation. What they said at the end of the piece is true:
Being kind can change someone's life. It can also change the world.
Oooo...the Chipmunks - my favourite Christmas song when I was a kid. We had that on vinyl record and played it non-stop on the turntable/record player. I guess the young ones these days would not know what I am talking about.
Just returned from a trip ... and ... ya ... had a heart warming welcome from Theo ... in fact, from now on, he decided to sleep on me ... and won't let me go anywhere by myself (not even the loo ...) smiles ... sweet purrs and much love, friend L ... cat.
Lots of fun things today, Linda. The Chipmunk song brings back memories. My niece drives a bus that takes disabled people to appointments and such. Recently, she was taking a group of mentally disabled people to a Christmas program in another town. As they traveled, she played Christmas music for them She said, when "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" came on, the entire busload, which had been quiet until then, started singing along with it. :)
Happy Wednesday evening, Linda! I hope you had a great day! Terry just finished his supper (left over c. c. pie and said, "You've got to make this again!" So I have a huge smile on my face because of you. Very important words to take to heart: "Appreciate your loved ones while you can, because none of us are here forever." The harsh voices in my head didn't quiet until I went on anti-anxiety medication. It changed my life! Once in a while they start in again, but I can now get on top of them. Being gentle with yourself is one of the most important things you can do. Thank you for always sharing upbeat and inspiring messages. Sending you big hugs!
I love the 'true friends' quote; it is SO true, isn't it? I respect a friend who is not afraid to disagree with me or express her honest opinion about something that perhaps we don't see eye to eye on. After all, we're friends, not the same person!
Please do not be shy! I appreciate your kind comments, they are sweet treasures and really make my day! Spammers, do not waste your time, I delete your comments and they do not even show on my blog. Comment moderation is enabled. I do hope that Blogger's changes in the way of proving that you are not a robot do not deter you from commenting! Thank you so much!
