Winter Monday
Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all! The videos I have chosen for this post are: A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire
Muscovy Duck Sounds
Blue Lovebird - Connie Boswell - 1940
Rutabaga and Carrot Mash Recipe (perfect Christmas side dish)
You Don't Have to be a Star - Billy Davis Jr. and Marilyn McCoo
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view. You're never too old to believe in the magic of Christmas.
That's another pretty header, ideal for Christmas week. I enjoyed these videos, starting with the German Shepherd driving a car. That was hilarious! I am very thankful that you found the Muscovy Duck Sounds clip. When I was a news and entertainment producer, I learned the value of using natural sound and letting it run without music. I thoroughly enjoyed the velvet voice of Connie Boswell on that 1940 recording. It seems like turnips, rutabagas and carrots are neglected veggies but Mrs. Shady buys them often and uses them in recipes. I will send her this mash recipe. I think I remember you telling me months ago how much you like Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr. Their hit "You Don't Have to Be a Star (To Be in My Show)" was on its way to becoming the number one song in the land at Christmas time 1976.
And another beautiful photo, Linda ! Very good gag ! Someone else is praying for the things you take for granted... And a very nice 'Meanwhile in Canada'.
Thank you Linda for this wonderful post. Merry Christmas to you! We will be travelling to the western part of Finland to celebrate Christmas with our daughter's family. They have a wonderful daughter, 9 months.
Hi Linda - you put so much work into your posts. Loved the Connie Boswell number - and I certainly agree that you're never too old for the magic of Christmas! So - have a lovely one, Linda - and all very the best for 2016.
Happy Monday, I love the dog driving video. And the ducks sounds is great too. Christmas is a magical time. Thanks for sharing. Have a happy new week and Merry Christmas>
Love your new header photo! And that gag is delightful! Great fun. Those Muscovy ducks I've only seen in south Florida. Well, we do have a couple here in Ocala but they've overrun the Ft. Lauderdale area. Lots of good posters again! Merci!
Love the driving dog. So fun to see the expressions on people's faces. The duck sounds are interesting. It always seems funny to me to hear ducks making sounds different from the mallards that we see most often here. They always sound like they're laughing at me. The ginger snap and steamed clams made me smile, too.
Dear Linda stopping by to say Merry Christmas and to wish you a blessed New Year. Loved your smart dog prank and all you shared. As always it is such a treat to visit you here. Thank you for making every post so wonderful. Sending you love and hugs! Debbie
Oh Linda, so many good ones on here today. I wanted to mention to you that Jess is the one who did the post today. Those were her pics and words - you may have thought I wrote the post. Every time each of us writes a post, we put our name on the bottom. Sorry for the confusion.
I love the "you're never too old" quote. It actually reminds me of Jess and I'll pass it on to her. The Muscovy duck sound is sweet. My father-in-law used to carve these ducks out of wood, and I have one of his white ones that he made. That last picture of the snow heart is great.
Wishing you the Merriest Christmas, Linda. Have a wonderful Christmas week.
Happy Monday Linda... I hope your are having a great week... I really like that one where it asks what country you are from and the answer is the country Earth... that is the way it should be xox
Que bonito lo de las partes del cuerpo, es genial y el pure navideño lo probare tiene un aspecto apetitoso. Feliz navidad Linda, se feliz y disfruta. Un beso muy grande.
We should always be grateful for family! I really needed that reminder today after having an argument with my boyfriend's family. I'll say a little extra prayer for them tonight. :)
You Don't Have to be a Star ... happens to be one of my favourite songs. I especially love the lyrics. Thank you for sharing, Linda! Merry Christmas and Happy 2016 in advance. xx
