Mid-Week Serenity
Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all! The videos I have selected for this post are: Do Tortoises Like Being Touched?
Wildlife: Muntjac Deer HD
Slice of American Small Town Life, 1940
Teen Learns to Walk via Aqua-Therapy
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view. Most people think all the time, and their thinking is all they see, they live in a fog, missing out on the miracle happening all around.
I so enjoy those looks at the past--that YouTube on life in the 40's was nice. Did you notice how nicely everyone dressed? Gosh, I miss that.............
Good morning Linda, thanks for sharing all the great items! Love the slice of American life in the 1940's. The cars are great in the video, such style! Have a good day! Robin
I can't imagine that tortoises like being touched. Loved the video on 1940 small town life. That town looks much like the town in which I lived at the time (I was very young)...but I remember my dad bought a new 1941 Plymouth and I went with him to bring my mom and new baby sister home in it. That all feels like another world now.
That miracles thing... I had a discussion with a friend not too long ago about them. It's funny how easily we forget the moments that change our entire worlds with only the passing of a couple days, weeks, or months. I believe in miracles. I'm grateful they occur.
Great videos and wonderful quotes and art work. Yesterday was a beautiful day but today we are under a tornado watch and it is raining right now. Have a blessed day. Madeline
Love watching the interaction between people and animals. We have dominion over them and they should be treated with kindness, not cruelty. It's wonderful to see how the tortoise responds to respect and affection. And don't we sometimes wish we could step into a time machine? (I wish that a lot). Love all of the quotes, especially the one by CS Lewis, and that magical artwork. Thank you, Linda!
Hi Linda! It was so cute to see that tortoise stretch out his neck to be petted. Who knew they liked such things? I love the quote from St. Teresa, it is everything to be at peace and to accept what comes in our lives. And...bring on dessert island!! Blessings, Ceil
Linda, That tortoise is like a dog...or our cat. Loves having his neck scratched! The Muntjac or "Barking" Deer is native to south Asia and was introduced to England. They are tiny compared to other deer. I noticed that most of the men in that 1940's small town video were wearing suits or sports jackets...in contrast with today. I do miss trolley's! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
Isn't it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back everything is different. - How very true, love this saying Linda. Most cats have 24 whiskers, interesting next cat I see I must start counting :-) Raphael Vavasseur Art, once again thanks for these pictures, they make me smile, and make me happy. Take care Diane
It's always such a delight to visit you here, darling Linda, you've created such a lovely corner on the web, so cozy and touching, thank you for welcoming me always with your love !
Wishing you a beautiful remainder of your week I'm sending blessings across the many miles
Hello Linda! That tortoise is so cute, and I had no idea that they had senses in their shell. Fascinating, that tortoise was definitely enjoying his pets!
I did not know that about cat's whiskers!
Great picks today Linda! Hope your day is a good one! Blessings!
The embrace of the two differently colored cats is so sweet! The small town video takes us to nostalgia - things belonging to the past - and in most cases it does us good.
Who wouldn't want to be stranded on a desserted island?! An interesting fact about cats...one that I certainly didn't know. The video of "small town America" didn't look like a very small town, with all the traffic. When I was young, our town had the buses that ran on overhead electric cables, attached by rods to the buses. It was fun to see those again.
Hi Linda, I loved seeing the video about the tortoise and had no idea how much they enjoyed being touched... even on their shell, that was fascinating.
A lovely post and I do enjoy Raphael's beautiful artwork very much.
Hi Linda! I hope you're having a great weekend! There are so many quotes I love on this post! Patience is when you're supposed to be mad but you choose to understand. Growth is painful, change is painful. But nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don't belong. Just two of my favourites! I love that kitty art! Big Hugs!

Hi Linda, I am sure I wouldn't dare touch a tortoise. I didn't know that most cats have 24 whiskers. I hope to check it out one day.

ReplyDeleteMuntjacs are so cute, love them, they are not very popular though☺
ReplyDeleteEveryone needs to be touched I think. A hug or scritches if you are a critters. I think it's healthy.
ReplyDeleteLove the deer.
Especially loved the 1940s video. Did you notice how everyone dressed. Suits and dresses. It was a different time.
Have a fabulous day, Linda. Big hug. ♥♥♥

ReplyDeleteAnger and hurt are different, but I didn't realize that until recently.
ReplyDeleteInteresting about the tortoises and touch.

I usually think to myself when attacked by anger that the person must be hurt in some way. Fear and anger do a number on us!
