Mid-Week Selection
Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all! The videos I have chosen for this post are: Prosthetic Leg Gives Abused Dog Second Chance at Life
Teacher Starts each Day with Compliments for Every Kid
Luxury Hairdressers (1964)
Quick Spray (1964)
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view. May is mental health month.
Boredom, anger, sadness or fear are not "yours", not personal. They are conditions of the human mind. They come and go. Nothing that comes and goes is you. - Eckhart Tolle
Bonjour Linda, c'est bizarre, il me semble que je ne reçois plus tes news... Je verrai et si non je vais me réabonner! Merci pour ce beau moment! Bise, bon mercredi tout doux!
Oh my goodness! I LOVE that teacher/compliment thing. What an amazing effort, and it does immeasurable good, I'm sure. If you're going to change the world, do it by example, eh?
Canadian humor is my favorite! Funny that The Hubby, who actually has relatives in Canada, doesn't appreciate "Meanwhile, In Canada..." jokes. People mistake him for Canadian all of the time too, when we are out shopping. In Metro Detroit, it's easy to cross from Sarnia to Port Huron or from Windsor to Detroit to hit our malls.
Our animals deserve the best we can give them and the prosthetic leg is a great deal for dog and owner together. Kudos to the teacher who lets kids know they have something good going on. I taught for some years and found teachers here and there who really didn't like kids. I think they taught so they could have people to harass and demean. 1964 feels like yesterday. But times have changed considerably.
What a cool teacher. He not only pays compliments to the kids, but he's lively and entertaining as a teacher. I can't even imagine going to a luxury hair salon like the one in the video. I rather liked the pink car...but my hubby wouldn't. :)
Loved the little mini cooper being painted! My all time favorite car was a little blue mini! LOTS of great quotes... and I do love a good quote. I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how very, very much we appreciate the prayers for my husband's surgery. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. blessings ~ tanna
I love seeing animals being cared for when they need our help. They are always there for us when we need it. Mahatma Gandhi's quote is perfect. Thanks Linda for another great post.
I'm a firm believer that when you see something good in someone you should tell them. I have learned in life that everyone needs encouragement no matter how successful they are!
When you see something beautiful in someone, tell them. It may take seconds to say, but for them, it could last a lifetime. <--- Aah, I love this bit, Linda. It's something we need more of in this world :)
Linda, Happy dog and mini-horse too with their new lease on life! That 'engaged' teacher is a bit over the top but then again his students are special needs kids. Back in the mid-60s I taught what were then called trainable mentally retarded kids. The highest IQ in the class was one girl who came in at about 70. It was challenging work but the salary was the pits and I only stuck with it for 2 years. That hairdressing salon was a bit upscale from any of the ones that my wife worked at back when she was in that business! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
Happy Wednesday, my special Montreal friend! I enjoyed today's post very much, especially the clip about the teacher of children with special needs. I think people like him must be angels among us. I'm back on line again ~ had some challenges here in Laughlin. The next week I'll be in Phoenix and then HOME!!! I can't wait! I hope all is going well with you. Sending you love and hugs!
Linda some great sayings you have shared with us here. May is mental health month - why are there so many people nowadays with this problem. Every shooting, murder etc is either terrorism or they seem to put it down to mental causes, I don't understand it. Why can't everyone 'Share your smile with the world. It's a symbol of friendship and peace.' by Christie Brinkley The world would be a much happier place. Take care Diane
"When you see something beautiful in someone, tell them. It may take seconds to say, but for them, it could last a lifetime." This quote is also my favourite. :) Thank you very much for sharing, dear Linda! Have a great rest of the week! xx
Thank you Linda! A lot of great quotes today, that touched my soul! "Boredom, anger, sadness or fear are not "yours", not personal. They are conditions of the human mind. They come and go. Nothing that comes and goes is you." "Our life is shaped by our mind." Loved the hair dresser video too! Big Hugs!

Hi. Great pictures and videos. That kangaroo picture is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteI had heard about that teacher and I love it! catchatwithcarenandcody
ReplyDeleteThat teacher brought up some buried feelings for me. A teacher can make or break a kid. They have so much influence. What an incredible man.
