Childhood Memories

I want to thank you all for your visits and responses to my posts;  I really appreciate it very much!  I found some things that brought back some great childhood memories for me, which I hope will do the same for you.

First photo is of a vintage ad for sweaters.  This ad reminded me of the sweaters my mother made for me. She would knit or crochet some things for me, and some were sweaters, scarves, hats and mittens.

Next up are these stars...teachers used the gold stars to grade papers that they liked.

Next up is the Footsie...this was a ring that you would put on your ankle and it had a ball with a string attached to it.  You would twirl the ring around and jump over the ball with your free foot.

Next up is Tiddly Winks.  This was a very popular toy when I was a little girl and was one of my favourites.

Last on my list for this post is the Barrel of Monkeys.  You had to loop the monkeys together by the arms...this was another popular toy back in the 60's.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here, and I look forward to hearing your own memories and thoughts. Please click on the "comments" link at the end of my post to share.

I remember having the barrel of monkeys. My childhood piano teacher would give us different color stars for learning our music each week!

  5. These really did bring back some great memories for me also. I had forgotten all about the Footsie. I was such a klutz that I wasn't any good at that game.
