Create a Sanctuary Within

If some of you are like myself, you may not have the funds to travel and enjoy things in this way.  If I could, I would love to travel;  however, rather than wishing I could do something I am unable to do, I try to create a sanctuary and peace within myself.  In other words, I try to take a "mental vacation."  Actually, this could be even better than a physical one in the sense that you don't have the stress of travelling, packing, etc.

I love to listen to soft music such as the pan flute or harp, gentle piano and the sounds of the ocean, rain and singing birds.

Here are some things that I do to create a sanctuary within myself.

1.  Listen to soft music and/or the sounds of nature.

2.  Take a walk; enjoy nature, take some photos.

3.  Take a relaxing shower.

4.  Dim the lights and watch a good movie or a couple of TV shows.

5.  Flip through magazines with photos of nature, etc.

I am going to share some photos that I hope you all enjoy and that will inspire you to relax and take a little time out each day for yourself.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here, and please feel free to share your thoughts by clicking on the "comments" link at the end of my post.

  3. I do the same thing. We all need to know what helps us relax and practice relaxation during the day. It is best for all of us.

  5. Good advice on taking time out to relax. I don't do it enough, and so am rather stressed. It rained the other day, so I rushed out to record it. There is something relaxing about the sound, and sight, of falling rain!
