Refreshing Rain

After three days of extreme heat and humidity here in Montreal, (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were the killers), I am really looking forward to some rain and cooler (and safer) temperatures!  We are supposed to get rain shortly...in fact, as I speak right now it is beginning to feel a little cooler outside than it has been, so I am feeling a little relieved.

I am not sure about all of you, but I have always loved the rain.  It sort of irks me when I listen to the weather forecast and the meteorologist makes rain seem like such a negative and bad thing.  Why, I am not sure.  I love the rain!  I love the sound of it, the fresh smell of the air when it rains and have never minded it, even as a little girl.

I think that being in Quebec all my life has helped me in this aspect, perhaps.  Here in Quebec we embrace the weather rather than complain about it.  We have winter carnivals and the like.  I think all this has taught me to appreciate and enjoy every season and to embrace it.  :)

I found some photos on the internet of rain that I hope you all enjoy.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here.  I hope that you enjoyed today's post.  I really enjoy and appreciate your responses.  Please click on the "comments" link at the end of my post to share your thoughts.

  1. Most meteorologists weren't raised on a farm, or they'd act differently.

  2. Rainy weather is definitely the BEST for sleeping. And it cleans the air, especially good for allergy sufferers like me. I don't mind the rain at all, only the lightening.

  8. It's funny how, as children, we loved to run and splash in the rain but, as adults, we act like we will melt if it touches us. Nice post.

  9. Another fun post, Linda. Rain can be a wonderful thing. Unless there's too much of it. But that's true about most things. They are best in moderation. I liked rain a lot more back when I wasn't playing golf. It's supposed to rain today but so far it is dry. Same thing tomorrow. Golf tomorrow. So, no rain, right?

Oh, and parades. We don't want anything, including rain, to rain on our parade!

Loved your comments today. Much appreciated! Hope your weekend is going well!

  13. Like you, I've always wondered why rain is always referred to as 'bad weather'. When I was a kid, I used to especially seek out rain to go for a walk in. I still do! I love it! I remember going for a cycle rain ride in warm summer rain when I lived in Ottawa; it was bliss! Now I'm in Wales, it's pouring with rain outside. Thinking of heading out for a refreshing shower!

  14. We desperately need rain here in Tennessee, but we're not expected to get any for the next week or ten days. We we finally do get some I'll probably be dancing for joy.
