Vintage Tins

I remember the old lunch tins from my childhood back in the 60's.  Many of them had television show and comic characters on them.  As well, some came with a matching thermos.  There were also cookie, chocolate and a variety of other tins.

I will be sharing some photos I found on the internet of vintage tins.  Hope you enjoy!

First is a Fritos lunch box.  I don't remember this at all!

Next is a Woody Woodpecker lunch box.

Next is quite fascinating...at least for myself.  It is a White Star Line cigarette tin.

Next is a vintage ginger tin.  Today, very few spices are found in tins.  Most are in cellophane bags or glass and plastic bottles.

Last photo for today's post...a vintage bird food tin!

Thank you all so much for visiting me here.  I look forward to hearing your thoughts and memories...do you still have any vintage tins?  If so, which ones?  Please click on the "comments" link at the end of my post to share.

  3. It seems to me that some kid in my little country school had one of those Woody Wood-Pecker boxes.

  4. I don't recognise any of them but I migrated to Australia on a White Star Line ship. I have an old cigarette tin which used to be my mother's.

  5. Its a pity you don't have the tins - most likely they are worth something.

  6. I have an old round-topped lunch box with a Disney bus painted on it. I checked on ebay and it's not worth very much.

  7. Thanks for sharing your findings. I think among this group of tins...the one that would most likely be worth the most would be the White Star Line Titanic one. Perhaps especially since this year marks a century since the Titanic's sinking.
