Why I Blog

Hi dear friends!  It's wonderful to see you all here!  I don't believe I have ever made a post on my reason for blogging, so I thought I would share this with you all.  :)

When I began this blog in February of this year, I wanted to have an avenue where I could be myself, express myself and share my feelings, thoughts and things I love with others.  As well, I wanted to increase my circle of friends and meet other good people.

I did a search and reading on several blogs before I jumped into it myself.  I decided that although many of the blogs I visited were beautiful and elaborate, some having contests, others giving and receiving awards, etc., although I thought all this was very nice, it wasn't for me.  For myself, the reward I get in blogging is therapeutic, for one thing, as it enables me to express myself in the way I feel comfortable...and myself!  The other reward I get in blogging is that many of you are interested in what I have to say and the things I post, and your comments are a reward to me, which is, for myself, the most important reward I can have.  It's kind of like someone buying and presenting a gift that comes from their heart as opposed to just the physical aspect of giving the gift, if you get what I mean.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate reading your thoughts, which you can share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  1. So sorry to hear about your attack of gout. I know how painful the condition is and hope you are recovering quickly.

  2. Nice post. I started blogging a few years ago just to tell people about my interests...my hiking and my photos, but then my husband got sick and I started blogging about what I was going through with him in the hospital and then when he died, my blog was an escape for me. I go to a grief support group and our therapist tells me that writing your feelings about grief is very therapeutical. My writing a blog has now led to me writing a monthly article in our senior center's news letter.

  3. It is always a pleasure to have you share your thoughts & the events in your day, Linda. Your blog reminds me of days when life was less hectic & sharing the events of one's day around the dinner table was the norm. I still believe in those old traditions. Thanks for smiles & warm feelings.

  5. Very similar to my own experience. I checked out most of the other social media and it seemed somewhat junior high to me Like and discarding "friends" All the inanae trivia. Blogging appealed to my desire to write. And so I did...:)
