Hi everyone! The video I have chosen for this post is "Millicent Phillips - The Little Brown Owl (1935). Hope you all enjoy it!
Well, I am not certain about the rest of you, but I seem to be getting quite a bit of telemarketing calls these days. Normally I just let the machine answer the phone, which works quite well, as they do not leave messages. LOL! However, on the odd time that I do pick up the phone I have a habit of getting to the point very quickly with them, letting them know that I am not interested, and hanging up the phone. How about yourselves? How do you deal with them?
The photo I am sharing today is one that I took in December of 2010. It was a lovely wall mural of guitars that I found quite nice. Hope you all enjoy it, you just need to click on the photo to see a larger view.
I love the brick full of guitars! If you don't answer the telemarketers, they keep calling and calling, they never give up. The best thing I have found to do is try to sell THEM something. Or convert them to your church.
ReplyDeleteAsk them to put you one their "do not call list." Every company has one, though they won't volunteer the information. Remember, that's what I've been doing for the last four years, so I should know! :-)
ReplyDeleteAs a sometime musician (guitarist and keyboards), I do find the mural to my liking. At one time I owned a number of guitars but now only two. Not enough for a mural! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOne of the tricks I used with telemarketers, was to pretend that I had to do something right away and ask them to hang on for a minute and then I'd lay the phone down until they finally gave up! Other times I'd just scream like a banshee into the phone. That usually sent them back into their cubicle!
Hi Linda, So nice to meet you. George said that you have visited him... Linda is a very popular name --and you are my 7th Linda who comes to my blog....
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to my blog... George and I would love to visit your area of Canada someday!!!!
Telemarketers are HORRIBLE here... We have a 'home' phone which is used for business calls. We don't give our cell numbers out to anyone except family/friends... SO--we never answer the home phone unless we know who it is... IF someone needs to talk to us, they'll leave a message. Telemarketers never do...
Come back to my blog anytime...
Hugs,
Betsy
I also like that mural of the guitars. Someone did a wonderful job with us.
ReplyDeleteTelemarketers drive me crazy. I usually don't answer the phone unless I know who is on the other end.
I never get them anymore. I guess I'm lucky
ReplyDeleteI don't get them here, but in France they were a pest...and the worst was that they would give the impression that they were authorised by the local council...
ReplyDeleteHi Linda!! Thank you for stopping by Hidden Haven. Am enjoying reading your blog and telemarketers here get a nice surprise. Our 5 yr old grandson is visiting so we let him answer the "land" line and talk to them. LOL We use our cellphones as landline is because it was a cheaper package for internet.
ReplyDeleteVery neat find my friend
ReplyDeleteWow, the guitars are really bizarre, good things come to us.
ReplyDeleteMurals seem to be rare in my area. The guitars are neat. Want a chuckle The X wife calls more than telemarketers these days.. Blessings! Lara
ReplyDeleteArt, Linda, the guitarwall !
ReplyDeleteAnd telemarketers... I'm polite and say 'no' !
Lie(f)s.
I always ask telemarketers to please remove my name from their call list because I never buy anything over the phone. I wish other people didn't buy stuff over the phone so those callers would stop!
ReplyDeleteTelemarketers elevate my blood pressure!I have registered with the national"Do not call" list, but some organizations are allowed to call soliciting for $$$,despite this. I respond by saying,"I'm sorry, but I am NOT interested & please take my name from your calling list." & promptly hang up. I wish there was a way to delete them all.
ReplyDeleteI've done that thing of just setting the phone down and never coming back. They always call at dinner time. I hope they enjoy listening to me rattle those pots and pans!
