Hi everyone! It has been a very interesting winter this year in Montreal. We had milder than normal temperatures, larger amounts of snow than average, and we are now into the typical "deep freeze" that is typical of January weather here. Needless to say, I haven't really felt like going around with my camera, as it is a challenge to walk with all the snow...and now ice.
Fortunately, though, I have many photos that I have taken over the last couple of years which I am sharing with you all in these posts. The video I chose for this post is a 1931 song entitled "The Cinema Organ." I found it really nice and different. Hope you all enjoy it!
The photo I am sharing in this post is one I took a couple of summers ago. I thought the flowers might make you all feel refreshed and happy; hope I am right. :) You just need to click on the photo to see a larger view.
I haven't heard the song, but my great grandmother used to play the organ in silent movie theaters.
ReplyDeleteI like the flowers, they make me happy.
ReplyDeleteThese beautiful flowers make me wish for Spring, although I know I will have to wait several more weeks. I really like the theater organ.
ReplyDeleteI really like the combination of the two together. I enjoyed seeing the guy play one of those organs. I remember hearing about people who also had to do it on pianos and they had to preview the movie so they knew when to play what emotions.
ReplyDeleteKeep those flowers coming, Linda! I've been so down for the last few days that the promise of spring may be the only way to keep me plodding along. Thank you, my friend!
ReplyDeleteNow you've reminded me of all the jokes about Mighty Wurlitzers and I have to track down a book by Neville Cardus with a review he made.....
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers! i like those pale hydrangea heads
A very special sound, Linda ! Nice, your flowers !
ReplyDeleteLie(f)s.
There is a theater near me that still has one of those old-fashioned organs that rise up out of the floor. When they show vintage films, an old guy comes to play it before the movie. It's really fun. I love those bright yellow daisies. Maybe I should go get some fake flowers from the dollar store to brighten up my house.
