Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your comments on my last post. I want to make it clear that I was not talking about anyone in particular...or anyone, for this matter, I just needed to share my thoughts and observations on the internet in general. Since I don't often share much of my thoughts here, or at least not at great length, as I am more of a listener than a talker, I wanted to assure you all that this was not directed at anyone. Even when I make comments on other people's blogs, it isn't often that my comments are long, but this is the way I am, just not a big talker...that is, most of the time. LOL! Again, thanks for your comments, I really appreciate it so much.
As far as this post goes, I am sharing a video entitled "The Woodchuck Song"...Tex Beneke, 1946, which I hope you will all enjoy.
The topic for this post is the domino effect. I have noticed that a smile can create a domino effect, and often, as well, a kind word or kind deed. When I go grocery shopping, for example, I often let someone else go ahead of me, especially someone older and/or someone who has less items than myself. Although I don't do a kind deed for the purpose of receiving anything back, and most other folks don't, either, sometimes it happens that someone will do the same for me...or something else, such as hold the door.
When we say a kind word or do a kind deed for someone else I really think that it benefits ourselves as well...it makes us feel better. Have you ever felt that you look really tired or bad, and then someone tells you that you look good? It has happened to me, and I must say it really changes my thought for the day.
The photo I am sharing today is some art that I found on the wall of a school playground. Hope you like it. :) I took this photo in April, 2011. You just need to click on the photo to see a larger view.
I think no less of you. I GOT your last post. I ENJOY your blog and the others I visit. I have never encountered a mean blogger. Blessings! Lara
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I never thought you were talking about anyone in particular in your last post.. It is CORRECT-that people 'can' be cruel in writing sometimes. AND--another way to look at it is when one interprets what a person has said in a different way than the person intended... That can cause problems also. Interesting, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI love the domino effect... A smile can cause another smile, etc.... My motto: Surround yourself with positive people!!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
My wife and I both loved the music! Your domino effect is sometimes called "paying it forward" these days, I notice.
ReplyDeleteThat hockey player painted on the wall is so Canadian! Great graphic.
ReplyDeleteAs much as a smile from an adult can impact another's life, a smile from a baby really lights up the recipient's face! Smiling and being happy really does impact our physical bodies in a positive way.
ReplyDeleteYou were right to raise the question...I wonder how people who are unpleasant when they post woud think twice if their name were attached to what they say.
ReplyDeleteYour blog lifts my spirits!
That is a very cool piece of school art, but I wish there was also something for the girls.
ReplyDeleteSmiling is beautiful, keep on smiling.
ReplyDeleteIs that Patrick Roy? Is he going to wink after he makes the save? ;-)
ReplyDeleteCiao Linda bellissime queste tue parole un sorrisso non costa niente ma può far felice delle persone che a sua volta sorrideranno.
ReplyDeleteI just love the Woodchuck song!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? I'm sure you've heard that before and have tried to say it real fast without missing a beat! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe domino effect is real. It's all called "pay it forward." If we are treated well we are more likely to treat others well. Boy, that's a hard lesson to learn!
Your many fine comments today are much appreciated. I've been busy until this afternoon but I thank you for visiting and sharing your thoughts on our blogs!
Great mural. I love these things.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
