For this post I decided to share a few quotes which I hope you will all find to be a source of encouragement.
"Everyone has inside them a piece of good news. The good news is you don't know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is." - Anne Frank
"Every day, a new opportunity to decide where your next step will go is given to you. Your future will be determined by the accumulation of these daily decisions. You control your steps and therefore your destiny, so choose wisely."
- Kevin Ngo
"There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up." - John Holmes
The photo I am sharing today is one I took a couple of years ago, in the summer of 2011. You just need to click on the photo to see a larger view.
Bonjour,
ReplyDeleteEn ce qui me concerne aujourd'hui la bonne nouvelle est de vous retrouver après mes longues semaines d'absence...
Merci pour votre très gentil commentaire, cela me touche beaucoup.
Je vous envoie de gros bisous.
These are definitely wonderful words of encouragement. The flower is very beautiful as well.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, We all need encouragement at times.. Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo... Makes me yearn for spring..
Hugs,
Betsy
Some excellent quotations, Linda. I've always found that it's difficult to live up to one's potential. Seems that sometimes I take one step forward and then take two steps back. Or vice-versa. But either way, I don't make as much progress as I would like to make.
ReplyDeleteFortunately, some of the great philosophers have recognized that and had urged us to accept ourselves with all our warts and weaknesses and counseled that we should love ourselves and forgive ourselves in order to live at peace with ourselves and in order to more effectively reach out to others who have the same problems we do.
One of my professors once said (maybe I mentioned this before) that "What is most personal is also most general." He meant that those things we think are unique to us -- feelings, thoughts, actions -- are really the same or similar to what other people feel, think or do. Which further means that we should forgive ourselves our failings (which trying to do better) and empathize with our fellow human beings knowing that we are brothers and sisters in the same mess together! :-)
End of lecture. Have a great rest of the week!
thanks Linda!

I adore these great and hopeful quotes! And they are all true!
ReplyDeleteI like the quotes, they are short, which people like me can understand, great Linda.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good way to start the day...thank you.
ReplyDeleteI think your pretty yellow flower is a Stella D'Oro which means Star of Gold.
ReplyDeleteVery nice inspiring thoughts. Nothing I enjoy more than lovely flowers. Yours is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteDon't (have to) understand them all, Linda, but 'you' ecourage me !
ReplyDeleteLie(f)s.
I love quotes. I keep a file of them. Whenever I read a book, I put post-it bookmarks by the comments I want to remember. Then I type them into a file with the bibliographic information from the book. I have even been known to put some of them on postcard sized cards in 'Publisher' with some clip-art - - and then use them as a page a day calendar - - - or just post them where I will see them on a regular basis. It helps our mindset and outlook to have good messages like these in view each day.
