Gentle Rain

Hello everyone!  A warm welcome to you all!  The video I have chosen for this post is a two minute clip entitled "Gentle Rain" featuring Blevins harps.  It is a lovely and soothing melody with pictures of harps.  Enjoy!

I have always loved the rain every since I was a little girl!  I love the smell, the sound and the feel of refreshing rain, especially after very hot and humid weather.  While I realize that sometimes heavy thunderstorms can cause devastation, so can too much sun especially on the most hot and humid of days.

The photos I shared in yesterday's post...the ones I took of Brother Andre's Chapel?  It was shortly before a much needed heavy downpour, as the weather was pretty hot and humid and I was very relieved and happy to see the rain!  I love rain photos and enjoy taking them myself as well!  I love seeing the reflections on the wet pavements, the water droplets on flowers and windows, etc.

The photos I am sharing today are ones I took that same day; however, the photos I am sharing this time shows the rain we got.  In one of the photos...the one where you see rain droplets on a window in front of a telephone booth;  I took this photo inside of a bus shelter, which was next to the phone booth.  I did this on purpose to capture the water droplets on the bus shelter window.  :)  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

The photo below is the one I took inside of the bus shelter.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  2. What a lovely post! I, too, love rain, especially when it's a steady, gentle rain. The smell of rain--so fresh, especially, as you say, when it has been hot and humid. We've been getting more rain here than usual for this time of year.

I love that photo from inside the shelter. And I enjoyed the harp music. :-)

  5. I love the photo of the phone box through the window.

It's funny how one's attitude to rain varies according to what one wanted to do that day. Sometimes it's most welcome and you lift your face up to catch it;other times it can be a nusiance, stopping you from gardening, or whatever. It's pouring down at the moment but I don't have to go out and am enjoying listening to it.

  6. Linda, I'm going to copy the style of words you use at the top of your blog. I hope you don't mind - they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

  9. Harp music is beautiful. Our younger daughter was interested in playing the harp rather than the piano at one time but it was quite cost-prohibitive to us. I need to ask her if she ever regrets not getting to do that. She was only five at the time.
I like when it rains. The earth smells so fresh. Great pic inside the bus shelter!

  10. We are leaving our season of storms though they can show up still. Right now it's weather in the nineties for a while. I don't mind too much but it does mean later evening walks ;)

  12. Hola Linda. Ahora estoy en una tierra donde llueve mucho y todo es verde, azul de mar y azul del cielo. Después de pasar tanto tiempo en un desierto seco, aprecio especialmente la bendición de la lluvia. Un abrazo,

Hi Linda. Now I'm in a land where it rains a lot and everything is green, blue sea and blue sky. After spending so much time in a dry desert, I especially appreciate the blessing of rain. A hug,

  14. I sat and enjoyed a harpist playing at last summer's Kirkcudbright's Arts and Crafts fair. Beautiful.
Isn't there a lot of rain around this summer. I've been keeping up with Calgary's floods, I've a cousin who lives there.
Wonderful quotes. I keep promising myself I'll write a book of my own quotes. "Have pride in your modesty" Is that possible?
