A Conversation with a Turkey

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!  For those of you who aren't sure that you read the title of my post accurately, let me assure you that you did!  :)  I did indeed have a "conversation" with a turkey in a nature park.  You see, this turkey was inside of a HUGE enclosure...yet he came right up to me, enabling me to take these photos of him.  Not only did he come right up to me, but he followed me as I walked....and he continued to follow me as I conversed with him.  Being the animal lover that I am, I tried to make the sounds he was making and he seemed enchanted with my attempts....so enchanted that he and I conversed for a good five or ten minutes as I walked and took photos of him.  It was a very enjoyable experience, I must say.  :)  Here are the photos I took.

The video I have chosen for this post is a one minute clip of some Texas turkeys playing soccer.  I thought it was quite cute!  Enjoy!

Thanks for your lovely comments on my blog Linda, always appreciated.
Really sad to hear of the disaster in Lac-Megantic. Chemical explosions always remind me of my own experience in the Flixborough disaster.

You're an animal whisperer! What I want to know is: what did he say to you?

  23. Isn't it fun when God's creation interacts with us? That happened to my husband and me when we visited a tropical bird at an aquarium. It talked back in forth to us - - in its bird language. We laughed and had a great time.
The video is funny. I wonder if the turkeys are having fun or think it's something that just needs to be removed from their environment.
