Nature's Therapy

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!  Those of you who are regular readers of my blog will know that I struggle with depression, and have for many years.  I say that I struggle with it, because I do...however, I don't "suffer" from it, if you get what I mean.  I struggle with depression but it doesn't have me!  I find that taking walks in nature, being around good people and animals, trying to see the positive in everyone and everything, and being able to share things on my blog helps a great deal!  Just feeling that perhaps I have made someone else smile, forget their pain for even a short while, helps to keep me going.

The video I have chosen for this post is a two minute clip of some dolphins helping a young seal.  It is really sweet!  Enjoy!

The photos I am sharing today are ones that I took on one of my nature park walks.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

  4. I guess I'm another who finds peace in nature. You may have heard of a study a few years ago that showed that humans have an actual NEED of spending time with nature. Not surprising, I think, when you consider that God originally put man in a garden.

  10. Hi Linda,
It's nice to meet you. You left a comment on my blog recently and then I recognized you from another blog!
Looks like we have something in common. I do not suffer with, but struggle with depression (and anxiety with agoraphobia) as well. I love how you put that ;) It is very true...I have had this for my entire life and have learned a few things in order to keep it under control so that it does not completely take over my life.
I love my life, and God has been good to provide the people and things in nature to help me live a productive and joyful existence in spite of the limitations of these disorders.
I have found that my loved ones and God's amazing creation are the only medicine that I need!
I am gonna spend some time reading your blog now so that I can get to know you a bit better ;) I love meeting new friends!
    ~Blessings, Lisa

  17. I saw this amazing clip on a TV documentary a short while ago. Seals, sea lions and dolphins are the most amazing creatures.
    Love Aristotle's quote.

  18. You are dealing with this in such a good way. It just makes us worse to stay in and shut the drapes. Going out into nature and on the computer is awesome!

  21. You have such a positive way of dealing with this Linda. They say we are our own best advocate and in your case this is so true. Nature is, for me, such a source of peace and happiness.
