Soothing Rain

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!  The video I have chosen for this post is some beautiful piano music with the sound of rain.  Enjoy!

The photos I am sharing today are ones that I took a week and a half ago.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

We got a series of thunderstorms yesterday that knocked out the power of 10's of thousands of people, so I heard.  I did see a tree in my area that suffered some damage as a result of the high winds of 90 km!  A large part of the tree snapped and the branches fell to the ground.  I heard that many other trees had the same experience.  We really needed this rain, the temperatures were dangerously high, and several people have died as a result of the intense heat and humidity.

Quote:  Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating;  there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.
- John Ruskin

Quote:  And when it rains on your parade, look up rather than down.  Without the rain, there would be no rainbow.
- Gilbert K. Chesterton

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  1. Delightful portraits in yellow my friend! I've heard of people having storms...seems a million miles away to us...high eighties and nineties and clear as a bell.

  7. Glad the storm didn't do you personally any damage and that the welcome rain arrived. I like that Ruskin quote. I have heard it before but I never really believe it, espedially when high winds are doing damage!

  10. This sounds like rather scary weather, but I guess there are precautions that you're taking, so here's hoping things return to a calm, normal state soon!

  11. I was glad for the rain here on Friday night. There was thunder and lightening, but the storm didn't hit with the severity that would cause any destruction, at least not in this area.

Your series of yellow flowers is lovely.

  16. Dear Linda - love the piano music...such a soothing piece. So glad you were okay in the storm. We had a tornado come through our area too. God was good and we didn't have any trees come down on the house. Lost one in the yard but over all so blessed. Love those buttery yellow flowers. So beautiful.

  17. Nice relaxing music right enough Linda, I was away on a cloud.
I was awakened however by the rain, thunder and lightening that's arrived today. The rain is much needed and most welcome however.
