A Squirrel Played Peek-a-Boo with me

Hello all!  A very warm welcome to each and every one of you!  The video I have chosen for this post is a fascinating 3 minute clip entitled "Squirrel Memory Test."  I really enjoyed this and hope you all do as well!

The photos I am sharing today are ones I took on a walk over the weekend.  I came across this squirrel in a green space, kind of like a forest area and he played peek-a-boo with me! I thought it was sweet and comical.  Please keep in mind that it wasn't easy to photograph him because he was moving about, however, I managed to take these photos. My favourite photo here is the middle one.  Check out his expression as he looks down at me.  It almost looks as if he is smiling as if to say, "Here I am!"  :)  LOL!  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  1. squirrels! they always bring a smile to my face, perhaps partly because of memories of the squirrels in cartoons that i watched as a child. it's so cool that you managed to photograph this squirrel in its natural habitat. it looks like it's curious about what you're up to with your camera! :D

  3. Squirrels are simply delightful to watch. I'm always amazed at how they can leap from tree to tree without hesitation and never fall. Their tiny little squirrel brains can measure distance in ways our human brains can't!

The middle picture is so funny, good captures on all of them though. The experiment is really interesting, but I felt so sorry for him knowing the nuts were close by!

  8. He is a cutie and I am certain he is playing with you, standing still, what would be the point, mischeivious creatures.

  10. Squirrels are fun to watch but I'm not a big fan of them.
They got into our attic one time - not fun and hard to get rid of.

  13. I love squirrels, but we have a problem here in parts of Scotland.
The native red squirrel is in danger of being wiped out. I quite like grey squirrels and have nothing against them only they are a danger to our native population.

    Nice pictures though.

  21. Squirrels are amazing. I saw a special on how they visually triangle a map of where they hide their nuts... using trees, shrubs, fences etc. The other squirrels do not put nuts in the same triangle area....interesting post and cute peekaboo game with you squirrel friend.
