Journey Back to the 1950's

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!  The video I have chosen for this post is a two minute classic Coca Cola TV commercial from the 1950's.  I love everything about this, it brings me fondly back to my childhood days when television was in black and white and the TV commercials were longer...and wholesome.  I also really liked the jingle in this vintage ad.  Enjoy!

The photos I am sharing today are ones that I took on one of my recent walks.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always enjoy and appreciate reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  2. That was back when commercials would last a whole minute. Nowadays, they try to cram a bunch of commercials into a minute to make more money.

  3. Lilies, Black Eyed Susans, and maybe zinnias? I wish we were all as innocent as back in those days, but of course there were no computers or cell phones either!

  12. ooo, i don't have quite the same connection with the 1950s, since i was only born in the 1970s, but it's definitely very fascinating to look at these glimpses into the past. i do believe it's good to understand historical culture, etc, cos that's what shaped us into the people and society that we are today =)

  16. Lovely flowers Linda and the Coca Cola advert was great. They sure don't make them like that any more. I wonder what show that was. My father-in-law still like to watch re-runs of The Lawrence Welk Show. Lawrence was a North Dakota boy just like him :)

  19. I feel to need to take a pause that refreshes!!! Love the OLD commercials. The new ones - not so much! Some of them are so STUPID! No other word for them. Every once in awhile we come across one that is clever.

  21. That commercial seems to be before my time or before my remembrance but I was born in 1951 - - and I remember us having a TV when I was young. One thing I don't miss about the old televisions is how the picture would sometimes roll. It was difficult to adjust. However, the shows were much, much better "back then". I miss the variety shows like Carol Burnett.

  22. At least in the commercials back then you knew what they were selling ...now you have to figure it out. As always love the flower photo's.
