RMS Titanic

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!  The video
I have selected for this post is a fascinating 5 minute clip of a head chef's re-creation of a first class 9 course meal that was actually served on the Titanic to its first class passengers.  I have always been fascinated with the Titanic ever since I can remember.  I found 9 courses to be quite a huge meal.  I would have been fortunate and content to have just two or 3 courses, without the dessert!  I thoroughly enjoyed this clip and hope you all do as well!

The photos I am sharing here are ones that I took today in a shopping mall.  They have their Christmas display up and I thought it was lovely.  In one of these photos you will see a store front for Kernels, which is a popcorn retailer.  It isn't really a store but a booth.  They also sell all kinds of canisters for gifts...and a large variety of popcorn in many different sizes and flavours!  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  1. The video was very interesting. I would have enjoyed eating some of the courses, but not all of them. :-)

  2. The Christmas tree is beautiful. I'm glad you included a close-up shot of some of the decorations. Kernels looks like a fun place to visit.

  5. hmmmm, yammi...I enjoyed it and now I am hungry *smiling*

Also nice the christmas decoration. I love these trees and every decoration in the Christmas time. Lived two years in Canada and I think thats a very special place to see all the lights and the feeling is unique.

Over here they are starting to decorate and the day when the lights are on is a official celebration.

Nice to see the tree inside the shopping mall, over here it's forbidden to take pictures.

Thanks for showing and have a nice weekend

    Greetings

    Nova

  10. Wow that is a really interesting clip. I have always been interested in the Titanic as well. They hare temporarily housing a few Titanic artifacts here at the Lexington Museum. They go across the nation and are in museums for 2-3 weeks at a time.

  11. when i first went to france, all the local clubs used to have an annual banquet - each of thirteen courses with appropirate wines!
No wonder they spread them out over the year!

  13. My younger daughter was fascinated by the Titanic for many years. It hurts my heart to think of those people in the frigid waters as the ship was sinking. The menu was interesting and the thought that people's wealth was measured by their girth. Now if your size is large, we recognize that our health is in danger. Also, I like your pictures.

  23. Hello Linda. Firstly, thank you for visiting my blog recently and for leaving your kind comment. I'm so sorry to hear that you suffer so with your health, but I'm full of admiration for the way you deal with it, the way you appreciate beauty, and maintain enthusiasm for various aspects of life. I normally acknowledge comments quicker but I too have suffered with health issues this year and have done very little for a few days!! I've enjoyed viewing your very interesting blog. The Rememberance Day post is very touching, it's a time of year which I find particularily emotive, hence the poppies. I have two more to post shortly. I will drop by again soon and in the meantime, I hope you feel better and that your health improves.

  26. Hi Linda, many of my friends have visited the new Titanic exhibition in Belfast, it's on my calendar for early next year. Considering it's only a half hour drive and a two hour boat ride, I should have done it by now.

    Love the seasonal pictures.

  27. Thank you so much for sharing that Titanic menu, Linda! It's simly amazing to imagine consuming that much food in one sitting... even if it DID last several hours! it all looked delicious, though. (And hard to imagine there are Christmas displays already! Where did the time go...?) Take care.
