Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all! The video I have selected for this post is about crime fighting geese! It is a one minute clip that I hope you will all enjoy!
The photos I am sharing today are ones that I took in May of last year in a nature park! Please let me explain the scenario to you so that you will understand what is happening. The pair of geese are Chinese geese...a male and a female. The gander is quite protective and aggressive! In fact, he attacked the greylag goose (larger goose) that you see in the photos...and he even attacked me! He has attacked several people at this nature park, so I have learned to keep a great distance when he is around! On the other hand, the greylag goose is very sweet...and she comes up to me to make it easier for me to photograph her. The Chinese gander (male) is the one in the front left on the first and second photos. Notice how the Greylag goose's wings are spread out in the third photo? This is right after the Chinese gander attacked her!

I like to keep my distance from geese in general. They can be very aggressive!

ReplyDeleteI learned my goose lesson about age three, when a goose attacked me. I was pulled away (not the other way around), and i keep plenty of space between myself and them now.

ReplyDeleteGeese are amazing birds, we have an annual Wild Goose Chase here in Galloway. It's a joy to be out in the country with no traffic sounds and only the sounds of the skeins passing overhead.
Love the pictures especially number three.
Oh my! That bird does look quite intimidating. I understand they can be very aggressive and will inflict painful bites.
