I am a person who is very sensitive to, and who doesn't like, noise. Loud music, television, etc., are things that I don't like at all so when I do listen to music or watch television I keep it at a volume for myself and not for everyone else. My favourite time of day is dusk, as I love sunsets and evenings...this is the time I take to relax and do things I enjoy, such as crossword puzzles, reading, watching television, doing my blog or listening to soft and soothing music. Since I love the sounds of nature I have many CD's with the sound of rain, birds singing, waterfalls, thunderstorms, and I find the sound of a cat's purr very soothing. The books I most enjoy reading are positive, uplifting ones such as the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, books about animals, books written by Holocaust survivors. I need to mention that until just a few years ago I would not have been able to watch documentaries or read books about World War II, as my dear father happened to be a prisoner of war and I know he suffered greatly at the hands of his captors...even though he never talked about it to my mother or I. I will share more about my father in some future posts.
I have blue eyes and I am very sensitive to light. I prefer dark backgrounds for website as opposed to white and light ones, as I find it easier on the eyes.
Thanks for listening. :)

Linda, thank you for the relaxing music video. Good video about the dog waiting for its master friend. So true the wordings that a beautiful life just does not happen.
ReplyDeleteLovely to read a little about you.
ReplyDeleteI prefer lighter backgrounds even though my blog is darker at the moment.
Don't care for TV being loud at all, not that I watch that much. Your collection of nature sound lovely to listen to.
Dusk is a lovely time of day, when the day is just about done and night time is on it's way.
Thanks for sharing all that, and thanks for stopping by with your favorite number. That's good stuff.
ReplyDeletePS: I have always had funny ears. Some sounds hurt and when I was a kid, firecrackers made me cry. Too loud.
That being said, I can listen to loud music certain times of the day, and dance around barefoot in my kitchen.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend and boogie boogie.
hi Linda
ReplyDeleteglad you liked my blog :)
I thought people got blue from trinking to much :)
have a good night
I have a number of books in the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. My girl loves reading them so we kept going back to the stores to look for more.

It's nice to know a little more about you Linda.:) I have the same problema as you with light. I always wear sunglasses outside even when it's not particularly sunny, just for the glare. I choose black also for my blog, because I have blue eyes too, and they are sooo sensitive to light. Hate loud noises, but love the sound of running water of a stream, an owl hooting at night and bird song during the day. I was so sorry to learn that your father was a prisoner of war,
ReplyDeleteIt was a difficult time,...being able to talk about it now is a step forward. Thank you Linda for the vídeos. I liked the one of the dog waiting for his friend, aren't dogs wonderful. faithful creatures.
Have a great weekend.:)
Nice words for today! I really like the Pauline Paquin painting too.
ReplyDeleteTime to get my "sassy" on! :-)
ReplyDeleteHello LInda,

My Father was a POW to for most of the ewar and he never spoke about it either. Great post as always Linda!
ReplyDelete"Chicken Soup for the Soul" is my favourite book.
ReplyDeleteGreetings!
Thank you for sharing some of your thoughts Linda. I am grateful for the list of "F" words as i must admit that in the annoyances and frustrations of modern life I do use the other f word when I really shouldn't.
ReplyDeleteThat gag was too funny! It would be pretty scary to look at blue face in the mirror! And I loved the dog video...we still miss our Golden Retriever but now have two kitties and "my" kitty jumps up next to me at night and purrs! It's a great thing and a great feeling!
ReplyDeletemerci pour le partage Linda
ReplyDeletehave a nice day
Wow..we have a lot in common, Linda!
ReplyDeleteI have loads of natural sound CD's too. I so love listening to bird song, thunder, raindrops, forest sounds etc., I find them really relaxing.
And my father also served during World War II. He didn't speak about his experiences very much either, but we knew how he'd suffered.
Thank you so much for sharing these personal insights into who you are...it is so good to get to know you better.
And I love the videos and quotes too - they are wonderful, as always!
Have a great weekend xxx
Sweet Linda, how lovely to get to know you better. Like yourself, I've always been strongly sensitive to loud noises, strong sounds, even powerful voices and prefer silence or quite environments hands down.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs & the happiest of weekend wishes,
♥ Jessica
Oh, I hope you will still post on my bright blog! I love to hear more about you, LInda, and I love all the little sayings and the sassy "F" one brought a smile to my face!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deb
Thank you for another wonderful post Linda and have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteI like all your quotes, and always a good laugh with your videos, but really delightful is your photo of Pauline's art (I checked her out on Facebook too)!
ReplyDeleteIt was exciting reading Linda, nice blog posts.
ReplyDeleteGood weekend to you.
Thanks for sharing more about yourself. Enjoyed the videos and quotes. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteThanks for providing a little bit about yourself. I, too prefer upbeat stories and movies.
ReplyDeleteNice to learn something more about you. Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed your videos too. Have a great weekend Linda. Best wishes Ram.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing. I can't even begin to imagine what your father endured. War is horrible! I suffer from lots of sensitivity, particularly to sound so I completely relate to that. Soft or loud can really get under my skin. I also have blue eye that are very bothersome in natural light. Even when it is raining out, I need to wear sunglasses when driving. For some reason, computer screens don't bother me.
ReplyDeleteMy hearing is peculiar- I can hear below and above the normal range of human hearing, something I found out through hearing tests when I had a bout of vertigo. I always used to wonder why people said you couldn't hear dog whistles.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, My favorite part of today's post is actually your opening ... I just can't believe how much we have in common about "noise". Your blog is just great. Thank you for sharing. John
ReplyDeleteit's really nice for me to know you much better, wish you a nice Saturday Linda
ReplyDeleteThanks for writing a bit about yourself, and letting us get to know you a little bit more. Sorry to hear about what your father went through. My hometown was hit hard by WWII, and there's a lot of history here. Hope you are having a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteI don't like loud television (in fact I don't like TV at all), but I love music, sometimes very loud. And I also have blue eyes, but bright light doesn't bother me (which is a good thing living where I do). Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteDear Linda - I am so glad you are sharing some bits of yourself. It is wonderful getting to know you. Green is one of my favorite colors as well and like you I like quiet and peaceful. That is one of the reasons I always so enjoy my visits here. Your blog is always such an uplift. Thank you - it helps knowing there are still folks out there who love restful places as well and soft quiet music. Take care and have a great week-end.
ReplyDeletethe dog is so lovable:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiring qoutes+
You know it, Linda 'You're welcome !'.
ReplyDeleteEven on a 'blue Saterday', hahaaa... !
I love hearing you talk about yourself! I wear sunglasses even on cloudy days!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! This has been a crazy week for me, and I didn't realize I had fallen this far behind on your blog! I've been catching up and laughing so hard over the great set of gags you've had: the fighting Santas, the spitting wine where public people participated in the gag, the homemade wine, the umbrellas one, and the hostage gage. They're brilliantly creative, these gag producers. And I think my favorite images in the past week was the Floridians and Canadians in the winter ~ so funny/so true. I always love coming to your blog because I love to laugh. Best of all from this past week was learning about you. How awful that your father was a POW. I've known vets from a lot of wars, some who were POWs and some who were not. What they went through is impossible to imagine. I've read a few Holocaust books, and the one that had the most impact on me was Anne Frank's diary. I actually got to visit the house where she was hidden in Amsterdam many years ago. That was a powerful experience! I have a massage therapist who is a good friend of mine, and often her kitty comes in when I'm waiting for my massage to start. She hops up on the table and snuggles next to me and purrs the most fabulous purr! A cat's purr is one of my favorite sounds and feels! Thanks for sharing yourself with your readers. I enjoyed learning more about you so much!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to get to know more about you, Linda.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great post, I enjoyed all of it.
Happy Sat. xx
thank you for sharing about yourself ... i enjoyed learning about what you enjoy, and i can definitely empathise with looking for experiences that soothe and calm us. i prefer the end of the day too, when the world seems to slow down and we can all take a breath. and i enjoy just relaxing in the comfort and privacy of home too :)
ReplyDelete(^‿^)✿
ReplyDeleteUn petit coucou chez toi !
Merci pour ce beau post !!! Extra !
BISES d'Asie jusqu'à toi Linda
P.S. Je reprends le cours de mon blog lundi matin.
LOL had to laugh at that waitress. I have had some pretty bad ones in my time.
ReplyDeleteOnce again your post does not disappoint. I loved all the things you posted. I also loved learning more about you. That dog (Budweiser video) is just so precious. You can tell I'm an animal lover.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Linda
ReplyDeleteAt times I like soothing songs and at times like 'loud' songs but mostly those from the 80s & 90s where i can 'screech' their lyrics LOL.
Sorry about your father. My grandfather was also blinded one eyes during the Japanese Occupation over here
I too am very sensitive to loud noise etc...I've been that way for as long as I can remember. The sensitivity also carries through to others too in a caring way of perceiving many times. You seem very considerate and giving to others even in the way you comment other new-to-you blogs. I wonder if you are an infp personality type? : )
ReplyDeleteYour blog is very uplifting and I always laugh and relax when I come visit!
Blessings to you! : )
The dog is so lovable and cute.
