Food for Thought Friday

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all! The videos I have selected for this post are:

A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire

The Foggy Dew - Bill Thurman (small celtic harp)

Vintage Ads - Laundry Starch (1936)

Baked Honey Chicken Wings

Have you been bitten by a mosquito?  Warm a spoon under hot water and place on top of the bite area. The heat will destroy the protein that caused the reaction and the itching will stop.

For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo.  I have typed the quotations in text above each image, and you can click on the images to see a larger view.

When you're lost and you're tired, when you're broken in two.  Let my love take you higher 'cause I still turn to you.

Babies don't spend their time loving themselves or hating themselves, they are just BEING themselves. That "beingness" is who you are this very moment independent of your thinking.

Always share your sunshine with those around you. You never know how much they might need it.

Let me see today not what I can get, but let me see today what I can give.  In what way can I be an instrument in the service of peace, love and kindness.

Love is the strongest force the world possesses, and yet it is the humblest imaginable. - Mahatma Gandhi

Success is not about the fame or fortune, success is the amount of love, peace and joy you feel in your heart at any given moment.

Sometimes our greatest strengths emerge from our deepest challenges.

Can you drop trying to solve your life story for a moment, and enjoy just being alive?  Can you feel your heartbeat this second?  Can you feel the air going in and out of your lungs?  :)

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always enjoy and appreciate reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share.

  1. I love the quote about babies being and thinking! I think this may be what Jesus meant when he said to become like little children. Love that Celtic Harp, it sounds just like a regular one. I guess the difference is that it is smaller. I LOVE the mosquito bite tip, I WILL remember it. Because it is getting toward mosquito season. Have you tried it?

  2. YES! I love it when I am a first commenter!!!
Louis Dean was born in 1936 and his mother and daddy ran a home laundry and used starch to do white shirts for business men. I'll show him this video in the morning!

On a personal note - I have remembered how you collect business cards and have a few to send you soon - along with a new bookmarker made by the quads!

  8. Ahhhhh!!! Laundry starch! My mum used to make that and then starch all out clothes - all pure cotton then, no synthetic fibres...and they would all turn stiff when dried and ironed. LOL!!! Those were the days.

  10. Good morning, dear Linda!

When people have their picture taken and await the result they experience anxiety. It was interesting to see that some of those unsuspecting folks became quite upset when they were handed a distorted caricature. I enjoyed the vintage 1936 laundry starch advert. The selling points, announcer's voice-over and model's demonstration combined to make me want to buy the product.

Have a safe and happy weekend, dear friend Linda!
