Happy Memorial Day to all my U.S. friends!
When I was a child I went to summer camp. Most children love camp but I didn't like it at all. It wasn't that I didn't enjoy the country setting, the fresh air, the activities...it was the way I was treated. I was treated badly by one of the counselors and some of the other children. I was yelled at, called names, it was just a horrific experience for me. I do have one fond memory of camp, and that was gimp. Do any of you remember gimp? You could make bracelets and necklaces, among other things with it. Thanks for listening. :)
This coming Sunday, May 31st, I am planning a blog post on relaxation. Even though I try to put a little bit of everything in my posts, (laughter, positivity, soothing music, inspiration, etc.), I will be focusing on relaxation on that day. :)
The videos I have selected for this post are:
A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire
Lemon Barley Water (Thirsty for)
Isadora - Paul Mauriat
Don't Stop Believing - Camille & Kennerly (harp twins)
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.
The lemon barley water looks good. My friend drinks barley green to try and keep her cancer away. I never wanted to go to camp, and was very vocal about it! Bugs and heat, two things I react very badly to! Nice to hear something else from Muriat other than the one song. This video was rather haunting and spooky, like the music. In fact, I expected that girl to sprout antlers and take off running at any moment.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I would like to try the lemon barley drink. Something new to me. I also like the quotes from Snow Goose and Shine On!
ReplyDeleteGlad I stopped by here this evening before bed time. It's been one of those days when the jumps were unavoidable and this post sure helped. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteThis colorful image is razor me right in the eye - unique.
Thank you

j'adore la harpe , pourtant j'en écoute pas souvent ...
ReplyDeletebisous et douce journée
That's nice. Journey's song on harp!
ReplyDeleteHave never been to a camp but my husband has when he was a teenager..
ReplyDeleteAlways a lovely variety. Thank you Linda :) I never went to camp. My sister did but didn't like it either. That put me off I suppose but she probably did me a favor.
ReplyDeleteLa musique au harpe est excellente, je l'aime beaucoup ! Et le "Juste pour rire" - super !
ReplyDeleteBonne journee, Linda !
That's not a nice way to treat a kid at camp. I'm glad you can look back at it with some distance. Looking forward to your relaxation post.

I do not think I would like camp...... Great post and I look forward to your post on relaxation Linda.
ReplyDeleteOh I love lemon barley water a lot.
ReplyDeleteI used to drink it so much back in Malaysia.
I never experienced summer camp but I really wish I did. I was never allowed by my parents. My childhood summer memories only consist of watching TV all day and night. Boring summer days.

I think I would have liked camp, although not if I was shouted at or called names. I don't know what gimp is, am intrigued now!
ReplyDeleteHappy Memorial Day!
Sorry you had such a bad time at camp! I never went to camp; couldn't afford it.
ReplyDeleteIs gimp the same as luster lace? We used to do that on the playgrounds. So much fun!
Deb
Love all the quotes especially "Acceptance", thanks for posting all.
ReplyDeletehappy memorial day
ReplyDeletefantastic post my dear, the first video is amazing! :D xoxo
ReplyDeletei'm sorry to hear about your camp experience. children can be very cruel, even more cruel than adults sometimes!
ReplyDelete"The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts." How true.
ReplyDeleteVery funny gag this morning. Now I'm beginning to wonder if I should grow another beard! Love Paul Mauriat! And the harp twins.
ReplyDeleteI got thrown out of one summer camp in Minnesota and my parents had to come pick me up. They were not happy. All I did was sneak out of the cabin in the middle of the night with some other boys. But I got caught. The people who ran that camp were idiots! :)
Bonjour Linda,
ReplyDeleteLa chanson à la harpes est vraiment magnifique (✿◠‿◠)
Bisous

Linda... what a terrible experience for you... I don't like camping because of other reasons... I don't think it's fun. I went camping for air cadettes when I was 15... it was a nightmare..never again
ReplyDeleteLove the quotes you chose as always... uplifting xox ♡♡♡
Stunning post!
ReplyDeleteHave a great evening!

Some of my older siblings did camp, but I never did. I don't think I missed anything. I've camped on my own as an adult, but that's different.
ReplyDeleteI've never done staying in tent kind of camp, but did things like campfire and outdoor cooking. I think it was a school program. I'm sorry some people treated you badly. But glad you had fun time, too.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your camp experience. I wish we could erase all those painful childhood experiences that linger with us. I never did gimp, but it sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection - Isadora was really beautiful. Thank you, Linda.
Hello Linda..
ReplyDeletela musique de Paul Mauriat me plaît beaucoup..

ReplyDeleteWhat a terrible experience you had at the camp. I haven't been to one coz I stopped schooling very early. I did finish a degree though when I came to Norway.
ReplyDeleteGood to know that you remained a person with a golden heart despite of your terrible experiences.
De beaux posts Linda comme toujours. Bon début de semaine à toi
ReplyDeleteVery long time ago I went to a summer camp, Linda, and it was good...
ReplyDeleteVery nice gag !
A shame about your campimg experience Linda. Kids can be awfully cruel at times.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the harpists, Camille & Kennerly. it is so unusual to see a harp featured anywhere in recent years.
Bonsoir ma chère Linda,
ReplyDeleteLa vidéo me fait toujours sourire.
Le choix de vos articles sont extrêmement judicieux et délicats.
Gros bisous ❀
