Monday Melody & More About Myself
Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all!
I took a lovely walk in a nature park on Saturday. My only disappointment was that there were a lot of people there, as I prefer it quieter, but oh well. LOL! I petted two donkeys, a horse and two goats, which was great. The weather was just beautiful, it was sunny and warm, neither hot, humid nor chilly, a lovely blue sky, and a nice breeze. My kind of weather for a nice long walk. :) This Friday, June 12th, I have a post on stress relief planned. :) The videos I have selected for this post are: A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire
Greyston Bakery Offers Employment to at Risk Adults
Tibetan Dance Performance
Eleanor Powell and Fred Astaire - Tap Dance Duet
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.
Life is like a painting. Draw the lines with hope. Erase the errors with tolerance. Dip the brush with lots of patience, and colour it all with love. Have a nice day.
Acceptance doesn't mean passive resignation, acceptance means recognizing the actuality of a situation, without making it into a problem. (without telling yourself a story of how bad it is, how bad you are) *and if you do make it into a problem that's O.K., too!
Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love...they depart to teach us about loss. A new dog never replaces an old dog: it merely expands the heart. - Erica Jong
I also prefer being out in a beautiful area for a walk without a crowd around. The weather sounded perfect for a day's enjoyment outside. Here in Vancouver this weekend it was a little on the hot side. I hope it isn't going to be super hot this summer as it isn't good for the elderly or my garden :-) I do love all kinds of dances so enjoyed your dance videos and Just for Laughs is always fun!
That quote about dogs too. That's so true. Please support #StopYulin2015. I hope this dog meat festival would end soon. Poor dogs. They deserve better.
Good morning, dear Linda! That gag video was hysterical! It must have been inspired by I love Lucy. I appreciated the report about the bakery that gives high risk individuals a chance to turn their lives around by giving them a job and a fresh start. Like The Dirty Dozen, the workers all support each other, count on each other and keep each other in line to make sure the project is successful. Maybe they should call themselves The Baker's Dozen. When I watch a couple dance I usually watch the female. However, Fred Astaire was so talented I couldn't take my eyes off of him!
The robot gag had me laughing out loud! And kudos to the Greyston Bakery - it's wonderful to know people are trying to make a difference in the world. Also, I read that Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire didn't like each other very much. They sure did dance well together, though.
I'm glad I chose a different breed of dog that last time. It certainly seemed like she didn't replace my old dog. Just gave me a new type of pet to care for.
I admit to sometimes being anti-social but I like to think it can be a positive trait in many ways. Time to examine the world, to think and to enjoy everything that is good about it.
Your walk sounds amazing, Linda...I am inspired! Tomorrow, I will go walking too. My husband and I are currently camping in the heart of Warwickshire. There are rolling hills everywhere I look...so plenty of routes to choose from!
Gooood Happy Monday morning Linda even though it's dark with rain this morning. I hope that the sun will later. I totally enjoyed the Eleanor Powell and Fred Astaire - Tap Dance Duet. Those were the days of music and dancing. You know one other thing that bothers me also. Being Canadian this " Eh " thing upsets me. I don't think that I ever said " Eh " and I've been alive in Canada for 65 years. Why do these people expect us to say " Eh " Stupid to me. Oh well, that's life. Have a great Monday. See ya.
I LOVE the tap dancing video. I wish you could see the giant smile on my face. What a talented pair... too bad we don't have dancing acts like Mr. Astaire and his partners these days.
Thank you for sharing these. They have brightened my afternoon. It's great to laugh more often. I should do just that. A walk in nature is such a wonderful thing to do on a weekend. Wishing you a lovely week!
How nice you had a lovely walk in a park! Even though it was not so quiet there, it must have been very relaxing time you had with nature and animals. It was too hot here to walk outside but I enjoyed some deck time in a shade. Happy Monday and have a wonderful new week xoxo
just spent a few minutes watching the Fred Astaire video. I love to watch people dance...i'm so uncoordinated...and he makes it look so easy! Thanks for the diversion :)
Your post is just what I need today. Too much going on at work. Cranky (very much so) with the husband. A little relief is a good thing! have a great day and thanks for stopping by my post.
The video of the man-eating soup was nice but the clip vanTibetan Dance Performancen I find really amazing! The movie of the old woman as a baby again was hilarious whahahahah ........ thank you that you made me laugh and let enjoy all this beauty :-)
Hi there Linda, thanks for visiting me and leaving your sweet comment! It sounds like you had a wonderful day in beautiful weather! Have a blessed day, HUGS!

LOL @ the gag, Linda! And I actually have everything to try that smoothie! You got me hooked on fruit smoothies using almond milk, something I would never have tried! have a good one!
A just for laugh is great! I laughed out loud! Amazing tap dance duo!...but Fred Astaire is better dancer I think. I'm making the carrot smoothie soon!
Lots of Awww! on this page, and the story of the bakery is the best! Working with the homeless ministry, i get what they are doing. Many of these people want to work, and have a difficult time finding anyone to give them a chance.
Hi Linda, I left a comment here yesterday but now it is gone. This has happened to me before on other blogs. Did you at least get to read it before it disappeared? *scratching my head on this phenomenon
Hi Joyful! :) Your comment is here, and I read it and approved and published it. Here it is. You just need to glance up higher, it is here. :)

Always a pleasure to visit and be cheered. Great for de-stressing.
ReplyDeleteThe Eleanor Powell and Fred Astaire style of dancing seems to disappeared but they were sure smooth:)
ReplyDeleteIt is true- Canadians rarely use that expression, but for some reason most of the world thinks "eh" is at the end of every sentence in our vocabulary.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great collection of videos and quotations. I really enjoyed the Fred Astaire video – how talented these two were.
ReplyDeleteFred Astaire was so awesome. I loved seeing those old movies in which he danced with others.
ReplyDeleteLoved the prank and the employment for at risk adults. Awesome.
