Today I was thinking about the Titanic's sinking...100 years ago! It will be 50 years in June of this year since Marilyn Monroe died. It really makes you realize how time can pass so quickly. Next year will mark 30 years since my mother died.
I do my best to live in the moment...and to appreciate everyone in my life and everything I have. Animals are great teachers...for the most part, they don't hold grudges and they are able to live in the moment. I enjoy nature and animals and I find that it really puts things into perspective. There is no "rush" in nature...it is never hurried. Yet everything still gets accomplished, and so beautifully.
I am posting a few photos (not my photos...ones I found on the web) of animals relaxing.
Very cute animal pictures! Yes, you are right we can learn some lessons from animals. I find that the time goes faster and faster the older I get, it is going at the speed of lightening now. That is a long time since your mom died, mine was about four years ago.
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny, thanks so much for your comment. I know what you mean about the time going faster and faster as we get older. I was 26 when my mother died.
DeletePerhaps you've had a chance to watch "Frozen Planet" on the Discovery Channel the last few Sunday evenings? It's a BBC production. I think you'd enjoy it very much. Last Sunday was the finale, but I'm hoping it will be re-run again. Absolutely fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Lowell, thanks for your comment. I haven't seen Frozen Planet...I don't get the Discovery Channel. I do get Animal Planet and National Geographic, though. Perhaps they may air it? (unless they don't have the rights to the program). It sounds good. I did see a program when I had the History Channel several months ago, I can't seem to remember the name of it off the bat, but it was fascinating. They were talking about the changes on the earth when people are no longer around. I love documentaries.
DeleteI am 60 years at May, and I am just a boy, still learning. Your blog is about learning life. The natural things are more intriguing. I love the bear taking it easy.
ReplyDeleteHi Bob,
DeleteThanks for your comment. It brought to mind a few occasions when someone asks me how old I am...and I always respond, "55 years YOUNG." LOL! I, too, am a child at heart and still learning. :)
Your dad was right.
ReplyDeleteCute animal photos, Linda.
ReplyDeleteAs Gorges Smythe says, "your dad was right".
So hard to believe that Marilyn Monroe died 50 years ago, how time flies?
I agree with the positive thoughts of Bob Bushell, the 60 year old "kid at heart". Think young, never old, life is much better that way and I'm 69!!!! And without sounding boastful, many new acquaintances, never believe me! Pity I just have such a back problem, that reminds me of my age - ha ha!
Your old photos are most intriguing to view. A most intereesting blog, and you still haven't e-mailed me????
Cheers
Colin ( Brisbane.Australia)
Des photos qui me plaisent beaucoup... Le repos est apprécié par tous!
ReplyDeleteGros bisous
I agree with your post, especially about animals. They don't have the emotional hang-ups that we have so they get on with their lives so much easier than we do.
ReplyDeletei like animals cuz most of them are nocturnal like me..they know to be awake in the night and safer to sleep during the day. I agree with you & your Dads wisdom.. i too love to smell the roses..and appreciate life and all it has to offer us. God bless U! <3
