Wednesday Wonders & More About Myself

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!

I love to talk long walks, especially in nature parks! I love being in nature and enjoy the sun and the rain, and I take my long walks on days that are not excessively hot and humid.  If I do walk on the excessively hot and humid days it will be in a mall, where it is safer for me and there is air conditioning. I love jeans, but only the stretch ones, as I find them much more comfortable for my walks.  I love all animals but must admit that I am uncomfortable around spiders and snakes.  However, living in a large city like Montreal I don't really see them...well, spiders certainly, but not snakes, so this is good. :) I just love being around animals and birds, and in nature settings.  Thanks so much for listening.  :)

The videos I have selected for this post are:

A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire

Prickly Pear Limeade (Thirsty for)

Whole Roasted Chicken and Vegetables

Meet the World's Biggest Bat

For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always enjoy and appreciate reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share.

  1. I am scared to death of spiders and snakes. I have arachnophobia for sure. I only wear stretch jeans, and have worn the same stretch brand for over 25 years.

  6. We both have a lot in common, loving nature and animals, not liking snakes and spiders. I think I would like a nice chilled glass of prickly pear limeade and a taste of the roasted chicken.

  7. Indeed, caring is sharing and in giving to others, we are receiving too...the blessings, the positive vibes, the good feelings, the love and affection - what goes around comes around!

  9. I really don't understand people who keep snakes as pets.

  10. I have to agree about spiders but snakes I am quite happy with. I also do not think you and I will be walking together. I have had pneumonia 3 times and each time it has been blamed on air conditioning. I stay away from it at all costs and refuse to have it on in the car. Windows open only!! Have a good day. Diae

  13. Hello Linda! I am glad to find out things about yourself! I also like very much the nature and making long walks or bike rides in nature parks. I lived in Montreal for about one month and a half and I enjoyed a lot walking especially in Mont Royal Park. I also lived in Toronto for two years and I can say that I loved the natural trails they have all over the town.
    Best regards!

  16. Good morning, dear Linda! I have a cactus collection and at one time owned several varieties of prickly pear. It would be exciting and I'm sure refreshing to taste a limeade drink made from the fruit of the prickly pear. Last summer Mrs. Shady and I visited Carlsbad Cavern, New Mexico, and spent hours walking through cool, dark caves inhabited by hundreds of thousands of bats. Unfortunately we didn't see any that day because they were hidden away sleeping deep in the recesses of the cavern.

Tomorrow is another travel day for me, dear friend. I probably won't be able to come over here to see you until evening. Take care, Linda!

  18. Hi Linda, I love that sign out side of the plant store. ... "wet my plants." LOL! The whole roasted chicken looks good ... probably a lot better and healthful than the Shoofly Pie on my post yesterday ... loved your comment there! Have a great day!

  19. How nice to have nature parks near a big city, Linda! We live in a rural area on 5 acres, and I marvel at all the wild life here. Like you, I don't care for spiders, even tho they help with all the mosquitoes and bugs. We are careful for our snakes because they keep the rodents away, and the black snakes keep away the rattlesnakes, making our little haven much safer. I rescued a tiny rat snake out of the pool yesterday. Hopefully he will get bigger and keep the rodents in the area at bay. I love black animals. Last summer we rescued a black kitty. My friend advised me "black cats steal hearts, not souls". Our humid hot days arrived very early here, so the AC has been running, and I try to get my plants watered early in the day. Hope you are doing well! xo

  22. Walks are good, spiders and snakes -- no, no.

That poor lady and the fire - glad it was just a joke because she was not a happy camper.

  23. Love the sign from the nursery! :)

  24. Seeing that bat reminded me of the first time I witnessed large bats in Africa...it certainly was a change from the tiny ones around here!

  25. So glad you have nature parks. We have lots, too. We have escaped the humidity & mosquitoes since moving to the Pacific Northwest. Unfortunately, we have not escaped the snakes. I've only seen the garden variety, but they make me RUN..
Love all of your selections today, especially the black cat. When we adopted a black dog, we were told black pets are the hardest to find homes for... I don't get it.
As usual, yours is the first blog I open because it is so AWESOME! It's the perfect way to start the day. We appreciate you, Linda!

  26. I've got an aunt who has a phobia about bats. She'd be horrified.

We had a good many cats growing up, and some of them were black. No bad luck out of having them around. One of them was a real character named Misty.

  28. I also love nature! I'm lucky to live near a really beautiful square with lots of flowers and a nice fountain. There are also lots of birds around (mostly sparrows and blackbirds, but they still have nice songs). It definitely makes city living nicer!

  29. PS: I wish I could adopt a black kitty. THey're my favorites!!!

  30. I just got back from a park that I visit often, the sun was shining and the birds were singing ...nature is my solace ... I do not have a fear of snakes and kind of like them ... my hubby thinks I am strange ...LOL
I love animals like you, especially dogs as they truly are man's best friend!

The prickly pear limeade drink looks so good , I am trying all kinds of new drinks , thanks to you, Linda..

    Have an awesome day ...xx

  31. I too enjoy the outdoors I am still walking a mile twice a day. I love gardening and have been busy planting more flowers . I got a good laugh out of the gag video. Enjoyed learning about the biggest bats. Have a blessed day. Madeline
PS the quotes were great also.

    Thanks for the good laugh:)

  34. That gag is pretty stinky! The bat reminds me of my 3rd grade teacher, and I loved "wet my plants"!

  35. 'talk long walks' are 'take long walks'..., my English is not that good, but... I just want to show you that I try, that I read...
    Nice gag, Linda !

  36. Hi Linda!I also love nature! Have a beautiful day!

  38. Nature is always the place to inspire me, your post just reminded me to get out today. Thanks!

  39. I also love being in nature, linda! :-))

the video about the bats is impressive! :-))

  40. I love nature walks too. Unfortunately it's too hot and humid where I live at the moment to get outside a lot. When I'm in Australia however I'm outside every day.

  41. I am never more alive than when I am out in nature, Linda! Our world is lovely, and I'm afraid that we are not taking very good care of it. I'm embarrassed to say that spiders and snakes can send me running, totally freaked out! I can't walk very far in high heat and humidity. At least here in arid Colorado, I can beat the heat by going out walking very early. Humidity ~ I try to avoid those climates.

Those gagsters in Quebec are so bad! LOL! Have a great evening!

  42. Merci Linda! Le soleil se pointe un peu le bout du nez en soirée, ça fait du bien de le voir...Bise et bonne soirée toute douce!

  43. I love take a stroll in park, enjoying what the nature has to offer. The weather here is very humid even early morning. Weather is warmer at this time of the year.

  44. Sweet Linda, I love to take long walks, too - the more embedded they are in nature, the better. Nothing, and I do mean, nothing grounds and soothes me like just that, which is all the more reason why I'm grateful that we live on a street with a lovely, meandering creek that personifies serenity. Instant place to unwind anytime I want/need.

Big hugs & many heartfelt thanks for your caring, touching comment about my Grandma (I appreciate your prayers greatly),

  46. So many more similarities between you and I, Linda!
I, too, love walking - and in stretch jeans. The rigid type are uncomfortable.
And I love being around animals, but spiders absolutely terrify me. I do like snakes though, in spite of being a little wary of them!

Another fabulous collection, the video about the bats is so fascinating. I have always felt such affinity to bats!:)
