City of Belfast Scottish Country Dance

Thank you so much for dropping by and commenting on my blog xox... I think Tai Chi would be good for me too... I am going to start out with simple yoga... mostly just some stretching... I know swimming would help me if I could afford to go regularly... One day I can get back to walking when I become stronger... Have a wonderful week ahead xox
Beautiful quotes today Linda, gave me lots to think about. The Scottish dancers were a joy to see particularly as I am in the process to moving to a Scottish Island. Take care.
Hello Linda, It was fascinating to see how much the bat was enjoying the cuddle, his/her eyes were showing it as much as the little noises! The 1940s house was so charming to see in its Christmas decorations. The enamel plates etc, all brought back memories. Lovely quotations too. Enjoy your week and cheerio for now :D)
This is the first time I see a bat up close. After watching the video of the praying mantis, I no longer think of it as a harmless insect. Its scary how it attacks its prey. Have a wonderful day, Linda.
Happy Monday Linda! I’m sitting in my office/book room looking out at the torrential rain – thank you for brightening my morning with all these lovely offerings. Barbara x
Hi, Linda. Nice to "meet" you. Loved the Scottish country dance video. Every time I watch a period piece, I have fantasies about doing some of those dances. There's just something about them, isn't there?
I'm a sucker for the 1940's videos...so nostalgic. Sometimes I really would like to go back to those days even though I know there was a lot wrong. We've come a long way, especially in the area of medicine, but as I've gotten older I feel less connected to what I think is the craziness in society. Anyway, thanks for the video and those wonderful Salmansohn posters! Have a great day and a super week!
Such an interesting video about the praying mantis. They're such interesting creatures. But very efficient predators, apparently. I enjoyed the dance video, too. My favorite quote of the day: Surrender to what is. Let go of what was. Have faith in what will be.
The Tim Horton video (watched it on YouTube) was hilarious. There was a great Tim Horton's near my old house in Michigan. Unfortunately, there are none in Oregon. I really miss it! Loved the sweet young bat & the 40s house, too. Great quotes - took many to heart. Great way to start the week. Thank you, Linda!
The Scottish Country Dance is really cute. Agree with that - When someone is going through a storm your silent presence is more powerful than a million empty words.
Linda, Love the Tim Horton's comic bit. FYI...Tim Horton's is better than Dunkin Donuts here in the states! Love that sweet bat face...although I'm not crazy about bats. Our biggest bat experiences were in Australia when the Fox bats flew into town at night to roost. It was awesome!
The 1940's house at Christmas reminded me a lot of our house at Christmas in the early 50s. I like the saying about overthinking. I use it a lot connecting it to worrying about things you can't change...just breathe and let them go! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
The Scottish Dance (Competition?) just blew me away, friend Linda ... it reminded me of my clogging completion days ... so much tradition, so powerful ... Love, cat.
... as for the bat videos, me not so sure ... was bitten by a rabid bat in 1994, had 2 go through a whole series of shots for a couple of months ... have been scared of needles as well as bats ever since ... ya ... hmmm ... smiles ... Love, cat.
Hey there Linda, I enjoyed all the positive things you shared here and I wanted to be able to say thank you for your visit to my space and taking the time to leave kind words for me, I appreciate it so much.
El vídeo de la casa adornada como en 1940 muy interesante, seguro que dentro de 80 años también les llamara la atención de la forma de adornar hoy día la casa.
Dear Linda - your Monday post is always something I look forward to - it gets my week off to a wonderful start. The one quote you shared about "life is a journey and not a destination" is something my Mom would quote to me. So true friend. Thank you for reminding me about what is important. Hugs!
So many wonderful words of wisdom and positivity to drink in. Love the quotes. How charming is that 1940's house. It is filled with a lovely festive air. Thank you so much for visiting my little place, Linda.
I really like the "Anyone can run away. It's super easy. Facing problems and working through them, that's what makes you strong" quote. It reminds me of Mother Superior's advice to Maria in The Sound of Music about facing her problems. Have a beautiful day, Linda!
What a selection of videos you featured in this post, Linda, from the funny "Coffee You Can Curl On", to the sweet little bat, to the Christmas decorations (with thoughtful carrot, cookies, and shot of brandy for Santa and crew), to the terrifying praying mantis, to the Scottish Country Dancing. I remember just enough of the Scottish Country Dancing Terry and I did over thirty years ago to recognize that it was a strathspey. I have to admit that I'm finding Country Line Dancing much more fun, one of the unexpected pleasures I stumbled across in Bullhead City. I never know what to expect when I click on your blog, but I know it will always be informative, inspiring, and fun. These posts take a lot of effort on your part, and I thoroughly appreciate and enjoy the results! Take care, my special friend!
Scottish country dancing reminded me of when my daughter did it at school. She sometimes competed with the other schools. It is quite a big thing here and a lot of fan. You can't beat a good ceilidh either. Thank you for the great quotes too. Xx

Oh Tim Horton! This was one of the first cafes I visited on my trip to Canada many years ago. It came highly recommended.

ReplyDeleteLife is a journey, not a destination. I had to be older to really appreciate this statement. That's part of the journey I imagine.
ReplyDeleteBonjour Linda :) Encore une superbe serie de citations: sage et optimiste. Excellent pour commencer la semaine. J'espère que ta santé se porte bien :)

ReplyDeleteYes, I always tell my girl - she thinks too much, such a worrier...and it makes her moody. All in the head, I would tell her, all in the head!

You always post such interesting things Linda! The 40s home is always an interest. : ) We have to love those 40s right?
