Monday Pick Me Up
Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all! The videos I have selected for this post are: Amazing: 2 Year-Old Russian Girl is an Excellent Ice Skater
How Pigeons Wearing Bras Support World War II
Pigeon Post (1952)
These 'Resurrection Plants' Spring Back to Life in Seconds - Deep Look
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view. Be yourself. No one can say you're doing it wrong. - Charles M. Schulz
Take a shower, wash off the day. Drink a glass of water. Make the room dark. Lie down and close your eyes. Notice the silence. Notice your heart. Still beating. Still fighting. You made it, after all. You made it, another day. And you can make it one more. You're doing just fine. - Charlotte Eriksson
The little ice skater is incredible, such a joy to watch. I get very annoyed listening to people describing pigeons as vermin and calling for them to be culled – they should be forced to watch these films and remember how useful they were in the past. The ‘resurrection plants’ are incredible! I’ve often wondered how apparently dead moss springs back to life when it rains, and now I know. Amazing, thank you Linda. :)
Good day Linda, what great and interesting videos. That little girl is adorable. They do start them early. I only hope she really enjoys skating with all the practice she'll be doing. Enjoy your day dear friend.
How a 2-year old girl can ice skate is beyond me. Most toddlers can barely walk upright for long! I've read about our use of pigeons before. We think of them as useless and dirty but perhaps that's because we have never fully realized their capabilities. Thank you again, Linda, for your wonderful comments. They warm my heart and I wish you a wonderful week ahead!
Hello Linda!:) Thank you SO much for your visit today and your kind words. My rheumatism has become gradually worse over the years, and especially painful this year. I needed a boost to lift me from the situation I find myself in, and your post has done just that. Thank you Linda. I am hopeful, and do believe that everything comes at the right time, for a reason. Lovely clip of the little girl,.. it really brought a smile to my face. Have a good week!x
Hello Linda, I hope you're enjoying your week. The little Russian skater was so sweet to watch... I especially loved right at the end when she went back to pick up something she'd dropped during her routine! So gorgeous, I can imagine her looking at that clip years on when she's a professional skater. The way pigeons have helped in communications over the years has always been fascinating - great to see those videos! Thanks too for your inspirationals. Cheers now :D)xx
Linda, I love that little 2 year old skater. I've never been able to do much more than stand up and hold still on skates. When I taught mentally disadvantaged children back in the 60s, most of them could skate a bit but their teacher couldn't.
I knew that pigeons were used during WWII but I didn't know how many or that their 'backpacks' were made by Maidenform.
Somebody needs to tell my wonderful wife that my way of doing things isn't necessarily the 'wrong' way. Thanks Charles Schultz...
Hellllloooo Linda! Hope you are having a nice Monday! : )
Oh my goodness, the little Russian girl is a little doll. The pigeon videos are fascinating, and isn't it great that the little birds actually received metals in the war?
The quote on being ourselves is a good one, I think it was Bette Davis who might have said, 'Be a first rate imitation of yourself.'
The quote on people lifting others up is great. : ) It's true.
Have a great week Linda! I'll have to glean more from this blog this week, I missed the resurrection plant.
Dear Linda – My favorite this week is the adorable little skater. I guess when she started walking, she’d have been smoother on ice than on ground. Thanks for the words of wisdom. Have a happy week ahead.
Thank you for the great videos and quotations, dear Linda! I think there are many things about plants we don't know yet and will amaze us. Loved all the quotes. Perhaps, perhaps "A beautiful face will age and a perfect body will change, but a beautiful soul will always be a beautiful soul" is my favourite. Hugs and blessings!
What a talented tiny girl, accomplishing so much at an early age (or any age at all!) Thanks for today's movies, and especially the pretty sentiments and quotes, Linda. It's a joy to find a place where beautiful things are happening and loveliness is extended to one and all! love, de
Thank you Linda...I especially enjoyed the resurrection plants. We have resurrection ferns around here ..l it is amazing what water can do. Loved the posters with all their wisdom. Especially the one about Washington ngboff the day and being happy.
La niña patinadora un encanto parece que aprendió a patinar y andar al mismo tiempo. El uso de las palomas como mensajeras tanto en tiempo de guerra como de paz fue de gran ayuda, por su capacidad de sortear obstáculos.
Both the pigeon videos were fun, Linda! I loved the Mark Twain quote: "The secret of getting ahead is getting started." So true. I hope that you've had a great day, my dear friend!
Thank you Linda! Loved everything! These two quotes are excellent! Everything comes to you at the right time. Be patient and trust in the process. and When others try to get your tutu into a twist...just twirl around and keep dancing! Big Hugs!

ReplyDeleteThe 2-year old russian skater is amazing, but she's not a rarity . In Russia they start sports and music almost in...infancy.
ReplyDeleteWell, I believe that when face and body age, the soul changes too. I've known good, kind people that with time became wicked, bitter, souless.
Petite patineuse de 2ans ... mais elle est fabuleuse !
ReplyDeleteBon début de semaine Linda avec un bisou de France
Oh my goodness, that little two year old girl was amazing. Made me smile. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
