Mid-Week Treat
Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all! The videos I have selected for this post are: These Kittens and Seniors Make the Most Adorable Pair
Jack Hylton and His Band - You Tell Him (1927)
Holland - Pigeon Derby (1957)
Chihuahua Puppy Thinks She's a Baby Goat
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view. The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones. - Chinese Proverb
Holding my tea, I don't think of the past anymore, I don't think of the future anymore, and there is a real encounter between me and the tea and peace, happiness and joy is possible during the time I drink my tea. - Thich Nhat Hanh
You are here for a reason. There is nothing accidental about you. There is a specific purpose, assignment and mission on earth that only you can fulfill. Never doubt your specialness. - Mandy Hale
You have made me cry; to be accurate, the video of kittens and seniors has made me cry. Such direct access to that enormous and neglected part of many seniors, the need to love and to be loved, to care and to touch.
Hello Linda, the seniors really loved handling the kittens it was beautiful watching their faces. I was loving the little Chihuahua too - the way it jumped the same as the baby goats... adorable. Such lovely things to give us a smile mid week... thank you so much for all of it :D)
Thanks Linda for sharing everything. I love the first video. My parents always had cats. After my Dad died my Mum went to live with my brother and my SIL. My SIL dies not line cats so no pets in that house. When my Mum (who is 84) comes to visit us she loves to see and touch all of our visiting cats.
Thank you for reminding me that the root of all addiction is pain. I have a bonus child that needs constant encouragement to focus but her pain stumbles her at every turn. This helps!
Hi Linda! I watched the video on the Pigeon Derby. I had a cousin who kept homing pigeons on the second floor of his garage. It's really fascinating how they tagged and ran this derby. Very informative! I liked the meme about the root of any addiction is pain. Sigh... Who can't relate to that? Tuesday blessings, Ceil
First thank you again for the many warm and wonderful comments you left on my blogs! You are so much appreciated. Love this post because I love cats...that first video is just delightful and the kind of love shown by the people will make a huge different in the cat's lives. Also I loved the big band sound ... nothing like it! Especially when compared with the crap we are subjected to today! Raphael did his usual great kitty painting, too. Thank you for sharing all these wonderful things.
Happy Tuesday, dear Linda! Thich Nhat Hanh has a wonderful outlook on life, and I am familiar with some of his sayings from reading Jim's "Ocean Breezes" blog. I enjoyed the videos, especially the kitties/seniors one. It's amazing the connection people can have with animals. My mother's dog and cat were a great comfort to her in her final days. Wishing you joy and sunshine + lots of love!
Kind words cost nothing--that's the one I'm working on. Not to say I have trouble with this, except when it comes to my kids...after asking them to do something for the fifteenth time. ;)
The video of the kittens and their elderly caregivers was so sweet. And I loved the puppy with the goats. Goats are so cute anyway, and so are puppies. Put them together, and you've got a winner.
Linda, The racing pigeon video is amazing. What a huge production...60,000 pigeons, all those cages, a long train ride and all those timing boxes...just to see who's bird is the fastest! The film with that 1927 band music was pretty cool. It must have been a big effort to put that together back in the day! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
Hi Linda! The video on the kittens and elderly is soooo precious! I think that does them a world of good, both! :) The nursing home we volunteer at has a resident adopted doggie now, a pit bull and he is precious, the residents love him! : )
The little dog and goats, oh that is so cute! That little puppy is trying so hard to fit in. Adorable.
The 20s music is fantastic as well as seeing the footage of people back then. I wasn't able to see the pigeon video yet because my internet is pokie today. It looks interesting though as all of your videos do. : )
Yep, small people talk about small things *ehem* or meanly about people. My dad always used to say the entire saying. I still think of it! ...And it's the truth many times! : )
Kind words cost nothing. <--- One of my favourite quotes. I find it difficult to understand why anyone would want to hold themselves back from making people's day.
But not you, Linda. You always have a kind word for everyone! ^.^

I think Eleanore Roosevelt nailed that right on the head! Love the kittens and seniors, too.
