Keep Anxiety from Exhausting You...breathe.  One of the biggest culprits in perpetuating anxiety is shallow breathing that is too rapid.  Pay attention to your breathing, and take slow, deep, invigorating breaths.

Nourish your body.  Eat healthy, protein rich foods throughout the day.  Eating small portions frequently, provides a steadier stream of energy than consuming just three large meals.  Replace sodas and energy drinks with water, flavoured water and tea.

Renew and refresh by taking breaks.  If possible, step outside and take in fresh air.  Climbing stairs, doing jumping jacks, and running in place all provide bursts of energy because they get the heart pumping and lower the stress hormone cortisol.

Nurture joy.  Life can be heavy and busy.  Every day, make time (even 10 minutes) to engage in something you love.l

The hardest step she ever took was to blindly trust in who she was. - Atticus

Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it.  The time will pass anyway. - Earl Nightingale

So you try to think of someone else you're mad at, and the unavoidable answer pops into your little warped brain:  everyone. - Ellen Hopkins

Don't shrink your dreams.  Super-size your courage and abilities.

Place everything you have ever learned or discovered in a box labeled 'thank you.' - Jennifer Pastiloff

When the roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind.

I woke up.  I have clothes to wear.  I have running water.  I have food to eat.  Life is good.  I am thankful.

Today I will not stress over things I can't control. Today I choose peace.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything.

There are four things that you cannot recover in life: the stone after it's thrown, the word after it's said, the occasion after it's missed and the time after it's gone...so live life to the fullest and regret nothing.

Live with few regrets. - Nancy Rainwater

I'm not interested in competing with anyone.  I hope we all make it.

Think happy thoughts.

I will always choose to move on in peace rather than fill my heart with hate for a circumstance I cannot control.

Don't sacrifice your peace trying to point out someone's true colors.  Lack of character always reveals itself in the end. - Mandy Hale

  3. I don't know about the tiny air-conditioner in your video, but I've got 2 tiny fans and they serve their purpose well.

The most important thing is to wake up, and be grateful to God for that. Next step is to be grateful for food, clothes, running water etc...

  7. Yes, it can be quite dangerous to clean your ears in the incorrect way. Eardrums are very sensitive.

  13. It's great to hear about communities reaching out to wounded or homeless veterans. And the warning about using Q-tips in ears is worth watching, too.

  14. Okay, I'll try not to use Q-Tips. I'm guilty of this.

Love the bird video. I linked this post to Awww Mondays.

  19. The healthy Place sayings are really worth taking notice of.

I did though love "I woke up. I have clothes to wear. I have running water. I have food to eat. Life is good. I am thankful." So many people do not appreciate what they have and complain about what they do not have. I am very thankful for life everyday.
    Have a good week Diane

  20. Good morning, Linda! How heartwarming to see people coming together to help another human being. It happens so often. Why don't we see more of this in the news? Well, I guess that's why so many come to your blog!
Another great collection! Thank you, dear Linda!!

  21. Sentences about being thankful are very important. I sometimes remember about it, but not enough often :)

  22. I've been to the doc a couple of times in my life, to remove built up earwax. It's embarrassing! I like that mini air-conditioner. Maybe a bowl of ice with a fan behind it may do the trick too!

  23. Hi, Linda!
I agree with the video about ear cleaning. I had massive build up of wax over the years and my doctor had to use an ear wash tool. It didn't hurt but took her several tries to remove it. I've been using coconut oil in my nose and it works wonders to sleep in our dry climate. so now I'm using it occasionally in my ears too.

  25. Linda, I should have sent you a congratulatory note re: Canada's 150th birthday! We love Canada... That tiny air conditioner is a smart little product. Love the story about the veteran getting a new home...happens frequently in this part of the USA. The bird video was very cool and I especially liked that bird with an orange breast and head. 31. I would love to buy that tiny air conditioner for my girl to use at her school in the jungle. Electricity runs on generator and may not be enough to support the real thing...and though it is a tad cooler in the jungle, our tropical weather can be very very hit sometimes.

  32. Hi Linda,
the bird video was very nice and I love the Tiny Buddha quote. Wonderful post Linda and have a great week.

  33. Like the tiny air conditioner for hot weather indoors. We occasionally get heatwaves here but the last time I needed a fan for cool air was about 6 years ago or longer... so not usually a problem keeping cool.
