April Showers

Hi everyone!  The video I have chosen for this post is "April Showers", Judy Garland, 1956.  I hope you all enjoy this lovely classic!

The photo I am sharing today is one that I took on my farm visit last Friday, April 19th.  You just need to click on the image to see a larger view.

Quote:  Never be in a hurry;  do everything quietly and in a calm spirit.  Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset.
- Saint Francis de Sales

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I really appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share by clicking on the 'comments' link at the end of my post.

  4. I loved listening to the music, and the tender voice of Judy Garland. What a star! The St Francis de Sales quote is one I try to live by, and it has worked well for me so far. A very good day to you Linda, and thank you for my trip down memory lane:)

  9. Llamas in Linda's Lair? Cute! And Judy Garland - what a voice she had. And such a tragic life. So many great performers have been lost to drink and drugs. I guess they have such easy access and so much pressure they seek ways to ease their minds.

We have an alpaca farm nearby. They're related to llamas, I believe, but are smaller and their fur/hair is very silky and prized for beautiful garments.

BTW, we've had lots of April showers recently which is good as central Florida, what with all the forests, tends to catch fire if it's too dry!

    Love your comments today!

  10. Nice shot, Linda. I don't have the place for one of those… :-)

BTW, I'm not sure you would be interested by how I usually describe my life. Let's say that it begins like this: "Better be in a hurry because I started too late". Whatever… just joking.

  17. I didn't quite know what the animals were. I am guessing they are a different form of deer than ours.

    1. Hi Larry, there are indeed deer. Young deer. They were a bit spooked due to the rain that was about to hit Montreal...:)

  18. Our April showers have mostly been snow showers but I guess it could be much worse ;) Peace is such a priceless thing these days! I believe it's more valuable each and every day. Bless you my friend.

  20. I was 13 years old in 1956, I know it was the exciting time of the rock n' roll revolution for which I was grateful, but there was still a lot of wonderful music around. As a youngster we'd always play an old 78 of Judy singing 'Have yourself a merry little Christmas'
Thanks for the memories (another one Judy sang)
