Thursday Things
Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all! The videos I have selected for this post are: A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire
Pet Rescue Goes Above and Beyond to Put Animals in Forever Homes
Mixed Green Salad with Avocado, Mango and Smoked Salmon
Echoes - Beautiful Nature Video & Relaxing Music
Most of us are aware of the fact that it has already been 70 years since the end of World War II and the liberation of the concentration camps, including the well known death camp, Auschwitz. I decided to add this video to my post to commemorate the end of World War II and the liberation of the survivors. This video, like everything I share on my blog, is family friendly and suitable for all ages. Personally, I found it haunting and at the same time fascinating. As I share this my thoughts are with all the victims, survivors as well as their families.
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.
I especially enjoyed the clip on the dog rescue since that's something near to my heart. I'm treasurer for a charity called Finding Them Homes - James Bay Pawsitive Rescue () while 2 of my daughters are heavily involved in its day-to-day operations, along with a great group of volunteers.
sympa la première vidéo , la mariée qui s'en va lollll passe une douce journée , ici toujours la grisaille et le vent , hier un gros orage ... tout est détrempé ....
parfait pour les bains de boue mais pas pour mes vieux os! je rouille ....:)
Thank you Linda for those lovely videos❤I specially thank you for the Auswitcz..We must never forget.. Hope you have a nice day in Canada:)Here we have tons of snow again. Wish you a great day Linda❤
That report on the pet rescue shelter made me feel a little better about the overwhelming problem of abandoned and unwanted cats and dogs. I was happy to learn that the facility trains the animals to give them a better chance of finding a forever home. Acocado, mango and smoked salmon are three of my favorite things and Mrs.Shady loves to make healthy salads for us like the one you showed us today. I get a chill inside looking at the Auschwitz death camp and imagining all the atrocities that took place there 70 + years ago. If we don't learn from history's mistakes we are destined to repeat them.
Thank you very much, dear friend Linda, and have a happy Thursday!
We've tried to "rescue" two little dogs in the past few years but in both cases they had been so badly abused they were incorrigible and mean and we couldn't handle them. One was so bad that the "rescue" person finally gave up and she thought she could "fix" him easily ... but the rescue services are wonderful and there are so many hundreds of thousands of animals that need our help. It's very sad.
As is the thought of Auschwitz which has become sort of a symbol of the kind of evil and degradation of which humans are capable.
Nice group of quotes today. Many years ago, on a trip to Germany my family and I visited a concentration camp outside of Munich (I don't remember the name). It was a very sobering experience.
The Auschwitz video is chilling. Have been to Dachau, but not here. Hard to imagine the horror of these folks in these camps. The avocado/salmon salad looks scrumptious.
The movie with the bride I loved hahaha hahaha ..... I was also laughing whaaaaaa nice movie .... you below with the animals given a new and loving home weather is so nice to see. Even though your other movies are a source of inspiration:-) Warmest regards, Helma
I can't see the videos when I'm on my iPad but I always enjoy seeing the artists you feature! Louis Dean and I are staying home and resting for a few days, trying to get over these terrible ellergies! Mountain cedar is a fearsome thing!
The expression on those people's faces when the bride/mannequin "walks" off is priceless!
Thank you for commemorating Auswitch. It's something we need to remember. I've read many books about World War 2 and the terrible atrocities that were committed. Mankind should never forget. Someone once said those who don't know history are bound to repeat it, and with so many lives lost, it should be a lesson well learned.
Dearest Linda; Thank you so much for those meaningful quotes and lovely videos♡♡♡ And the Auswitcz... My late father fought in World War II, he hadn't told us abut his experience. Tomorrow happened to be his birthday, I thought about him :-) Sincerely from Japan, xoxo Miyako*
