Monday Melody and a New Poll!

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!
I have added a new poll, this time about movies, and you will find this on the upper right hand column of my blog.  I notice that some of you have already seen and responded to my new poll, thank you!  I am allowing you all to choose as many as you like, in other words, you are not limited to choosing just one...if you like more than one genre of movie, choose the ones that you like.  Thank you all so much for taking the time to vote in my polls.  :)

The videos I have selected for this post are:

A Just for Laughs Gag/Juste pour Rire

Lady Surprised by Squirrel Passenger in her Car

Affogato (Thirsty for...)

Let's Make a Sandwich (1950)

Filipino Traffic Cop Dancing to Michael Jackson
I posted this video on my blog a very, very long time ago, but some of you may not have seen it.  Even if you have already seen it, this is well worth watching again!  It is easy to see that this guy really enjoys his job, and anyone who is watching him enjoys the enthusiasm he obviously brings to many people!  :)

For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo.  You just need to click on the images to see a larger view.

Learn to enjoy every minute of your life.  Be happy now.  Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future.  Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with your family.  Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.

A big secret for happiness:  ignore people who do crappy things to you.

Take life day by day.  Be grateful for the little things. Try not to stress over what you can't control.

Your words have great power.  Use them to support and inspire.

When you look deeply into your anger you will see that the person you call your enemy is also suffering. As soon as you can see that, then your capacity for accepting and having compassion for them is there.

Don't look for love;  quietly give it away and let it find you back.

Accept who you are with all of your flaws, you are a beautiful person, give yourself applause.  You may be fat, you may be skinny, you may have a disability or think you're not pretty.  Your own view of yourself is not what others see, true beauty is on the inside...shine and be free.

Failure is an event, never a person. - Zig Ziglar

When you practice self-compassion and embrace your imperfections, the light of unconditional love will flow from you into the world.

Sometimes, you just have to play the role of a fool to fool the fool who thinks they are fooling you.

In America they call it Survivor.  In Canada we call it camping.

Thank you all so much for visiting me here!  I always appreciate and enjoy reading your kind thoughts, which you are always welcome to share!

  5. Delightful post! As a long-time coffee lover I went directly to the "Affogato" tutorial. The Italian word for "drowned" puzzled me but I can imagine fates far worse than drowning in the resulting confection. Besides, unless I grossly underestimate its dimensions, there is little danger of drowning in the cup shown in the video.

  6. Never tried an affogato before. For one thing, this is only available at those classy coffee places where the drinks do not come cheap...plus the milk (in the ice cream) in it makes me sleepy. I guess I can live without it.

  20. Good morning, dear Linda! I voted! :) Isn't it funny how a cute little furry animal like a skunk can fill people with terror? I was very happy to see the trapped squirrel freed and released into the wild where he belongs. That old sandwich demonstration reminded me of the Dagwood sandwich, named after Dagwood Bumstead from the comic strip Blondie. The dancing traffic cop reminds us that work becomes play when we find a way to make it fun.

    Happy Monday, dear friend Linda!

  29. I laughed out loud at that T-shirt! A bit of truth there, I think. Now, so far skunks go, one should stay far away even if they're faux. :)
