Monday Must See and News

Hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to you all!
I just wanted to let you all know that my apartment search continues.  I received some news today that is not good in reference to my number on the list for low cost housing.  My number has been the same for about a month now, but I just found out that it have moved...but UP, not down, by two points.  :(  As if being on this very long waiting list for more than 6 and a half years is bad enough, but now my number is going up...and now down?  I have to admit that I am discouraged about this, but I will try and see what is going on and why this is happening this week.  In the meantime, I want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers on my behalf, as well as your love, encouragement and support, it means so much to me.  I am keeping the Go Fund Me link on the right hand column of my blog for those of you who wish to, and are able to donate money.  A heartfelt and sincere thank you!  Love and hugs to you all.

The videos I have chosen for this post are:

  1. Lovely quotations as always. If I must pick my favourite, I guess it is this one: "Do your best. Forgive quickly. Be generous. Use kind words."

  10. Sorry to hear your update Linda but let us keep on in praying and having positive thoughts. Something just has to come up for you. Have you put in a word or notice in your local community centers or senior's centers or even bulletin boards in your local supermarkets in neighbourhoods where you'd like to live?

  12. Bonjour Linda,
Bises

  13. Hello, I would definitely find why your number is going backwards after all these years. Do you have a local government representative you could call, maybe they could speed up the process. Sorry, I hope you find a place soon. Enjoy your day!

  14. Dear Linda - praying you will find a place to move soon. Certain you will! What an astonishing video of the colt in the ant hole. Can't imagine how that happened but glad someone followed through and saved this sweet boy. All your quotes were wonderful. Especially "never trust your tongue when your heart is bitter". Wonderful reminder. Take care dear friend and have a blessed day. Hugs!

  15. The first video moved me so much, friend Linda ... I raised cattle for more than 25 years and understand them perfectly ... but never horses because I am eternally afraid of them ... some day I will conquer that fear ... and some day soon you will have a comfortable place to live ... Circle of life, ya? ... Love always, cat.

  27. The wait list must be so maddening! Do they have an approximate time as to how much longer you will have to wait?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hi Birdie, unfortunately they do not divulge any waiting time, as they go on a priority and number basis. So if someone on the list has a sudden and urgent situation (such as a fatal fire and they lose everything), they get first priority. As well, they work with what they have in terms of available apartments. It can be frustrating, as there is no way for me to know the time length. It could be months or years.

  29. I especially liked your videos today, Linda. Ants are incredibly vicious critters, so glad the poor wee horse was rescued. The watch for people with Parkinsons' disease was also much appreciated. I broke my right wrist when I was a teenager and it never set properly so I have a difficult time writing, but I don't think it would work for me. And the small a/c unit! Wow, I wish they had those back in the day. Today, we live in homes with central air conditioning and this new little unit would be of little use unless, of course, one did not have central air, then it would be hugely beneficial. I remember trying to put those old a/c units into windows at my in-laws house...what a job that was!

So sorry about the bad new with regard to your housing. It seems that being on the list for as long as you have should give you a leg up. Perhaps you can speak with someone in authority in charge of such things?

    Best wishes, as usual.

  32. Hello Linda! Oh my, how your stomach must have dropped when you saw that list. I hope you can receive some clarity on why-what happened...I will remain praying for you and Romeo.

Loved the little colt video, that poor mommy and her sweet little fella. I was nervous just watching! Thank God the farmers were alert to the mommy! : )

I was watching the video on the negative thoughts, that was interesting.

Please take care, earnestly praying. Love, and a big hug! Amelia

    Saludos.

  41. Hi Linda, hoping with all my heart that something will come your way real soon. Things happen when you are least expecting it sometimes. I have had that happen so many times over the course of my 67 years :) I will be constantly sending you good and happy vibes for such a happy event. Thank you for all the interesting things you have shared today. My heart went out to the little guy down the ant hole. Goodness, I have never heard of anything like that happening. I didn’t even know there were such large ant holes! The watch is amazing. Those new-style air-conditioners are so cool, pardon the pun ;) and I thought the turn it around project was very heartwarming and inspiring. The wise words are always great and meanwhile in Canada, was sweet. Thank you Linda and sending hugs and wishing you much good luck on your move.
