It may seem like I didn't do much of anything today, but what I have going on mentally has me physically exhausted.
Give yourself time to heal from a challenge you've been dealt. Letting go of hurt doesn't happen overnight. It happens in slow, small steps forward. (plus a few steps backwards at times). Be gentle and patient with yourself.
At the root of this dilemma is the way we view mental health in this country. Whether an illness affects your heart, your leg or your brain, it is still an illness and there should be no discrimination. - Michelle Obama
Lovely post as always. Love the ferrets. I had a baby that I hand reared because its mother was killing of its own litter. It grew up to be like a dog around the house and garden and was the most fantastic pet. Thanks for the last picture always my favourite :-) I hope you are managing to find some accommodation. Think of you often, hugs Diane
I have to agree with Beethoven's quote:'"everyday is lost in which we do not learn something useful....." The internet, with its Youtube tutorial videos, has enabled me , during the last years, to learn some very useful things, like fixing and repairing, dealing with all sorts of problems that I encounter at home and in life in general.
Hi, Linda. Interesting videos and thoughtful quotes for this Wednesday morning. I'm so grateful for people like the man who cares for the stray dogs. What an inspirational story.
What a superb post. All of the videos were delightful. I especially enjoyed the man taking care of all those (220) dogs! What a wonderful guy he must be. These animals are our cousins with brains and hearts and feelings and they hurt and get hungry, etc., just like we do and to care for them is, if I were religious I'd say, doing God's work!
I'd go to Canada just to see a "Sorry" bus - so funny.
And Octopus City - that I believe, is Washington, DC, where the politicos long arms continue to steal from the people who they are supposed to be helping!
Love the posters, too. Have a great day, my friend.
Linda - what an amazing story about the wonderful gentleman who cares for the stray dogs. Such a caring person. You always pick the best stories to share. Hope you are having a lovely day. Hugs!
It's true, Linda! I've been in Victoria a month now, and everyone says, "Sorry!" I haven't found an apologizing bus yet, though ~ LOL. Inspirational and uplifting videos and quotes ~ Loved the octopus one ~ Not sure I need a flying robot! Sending you love and hugs!
Linda, Nice story about the dog rescuer... The octopus city bit is certainly something that I hadn't heard about. Very interesting... That Alexa "Aire" is just a bit much for me. I don't even have a smart phone, or any mobile phone for that matter and I haven't worn a watch in more than 8 years. I don't understand meditation but it does seem to help some people and that's a good thing. I didn't know that a group of ferrets is called a business...but if you've ever seen more than one ferret together somewhere, it's easy to understand! They are always 'busy'! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
Thank you as always, dearest Linda, for the inspiring quotes... that speak about really important topics. I must say, however, that I totally disagree with "Life does not give you what you want, it gives you what you are"! :) Life can be terribly unfair sometimes. Wishing you blessed and happy autumn days. ♥
The gentleman who feeds all the dogs is a miracle maker. Seeing someone help these poor dogs is priceless. "Life does not give you what you want, it gives you what you are", is my favorite quote.
Thanks for sharing Linda and have a wonderful day.

ReplyDelete"A group of ferrets is called a business." I wonder why. Like a school of fish, why school? The English language can be really intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThe best way to be happy with someone is to learn to be happy alone - I like being alone. This sentence is very good :)
