Mid-Week Encouragement and News
Hello everyone! A very warm welcome to you all! I have added a Go Fund Me button, which you will find right beneath my Google Translator, on the right hand column of my blog. If anyone is able to donate something towards my move, it would mean so much to me. You just need to click on the Go Fund Me link, for anyone who is able to, and would like to donate to help! Or if you prefer, and you have my e-mail address, you can make your donation via PayPal. Thank you so much and love and hugs to you all! The videos I have selected for this post are: Koala Walks into Woman's House
Glass Bottom Pool is 500 Feet Above Street
Flying Bicycle
Peeking into Australia's Underground Homes
For the following, I am providing the link sources beneath each photo. You just need to click on the images to see a larger view. How to help someone with depression...help him or her get an appropriate depression diagnosis and treatment. Encourage the person to stay with treatment or to see different treatment if no improvement occurs. Use understanding, patience, affection and encouragement to offer emotional support. Encourage participation in some activities that once gave pleasure, but do not push the depressed person to undertake too much too soon. Encourage the person to join a depression support group where they can share in a non-judgmental environment. Remember that depression is not something a person can "snap out of" nor can he or she "choose to be happy instead." Depression is a mental illness, not a choice.
You cannot recover from anxiety by just staying calm. You cannot recover from depression by just being positive. You cannot recover from anorexia nervosa by just eating more. If mental illnesses were that simple, we wouldn't be struggling in the first place.
To find peace you have to accept life as it is - rather than as you would like it to be. <-- So much wisdom in this one. And I'd like to add, being grateful for what we have.
Love and hugs, Linda. I hope you have what you need soon. x
What a pleasant surprise visit by a koala. I wouldn't dare swim in the glass bottom swimming pool. The underground houses are very unique and I am sure they make very comfortable homes.
"If you are always racing to the next moment, what happens to the one you're in?" That sounds a bit like me, I am always on the go and I seldom get the chance to sit and relax!!!!! I laughed out loud at Mount Rushmore as seen from the Canadian side. :) So funny. I hope that things are looking up for you, take care, warm hugs Diane
Hello, love the cute koala video. Your quotes are always wonderful, I wish more people were kind and respectful of others. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!
Dear Linda, I am so sorry you are having to move. I prayed that the Lord would open doors for you and guide and lead. I have been in and out of pocket blogging due to vacation and sickness. Why are you having to move? Praying for you this morning. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Good morning, Linda! Loved that sweet koala video, but I wasn't able to continue watching the "bottomless" pool... Scary. The other videos were great as were the quotes. Mount Rushmore gave me a good belly laugh. Thanks for that! Hope all is well on the moving front! Let us know when you find something. God bless you, Linda.
The glass bottom pool is truly terrifying alright ... I do not think I would ever step on that or swim in that ... O well, maybe if my life depended on it or my kids life, but even then, maybe be maybe not ... Love, cat.
Thanks for the tips. My mum's having depression right now after my dad passed away around a month ago, 93. She's 89. Was in the medical centre for over a week and is recovering now, just discharged yesterday.
Hello Linda!:) Thank you for these really lovely collection of quotes, and videos. I could totally identify with the Rainwaters quote, and many others. It was intriguing to see the underground homes, or a should say town. I couldn't watch the whole video clip of the glass bottomed swimming pool, and it's not something I would like to swim in, as I suffer from vertigo, but it is a novel and fun idea for the adventurous. Of course I loved the cute and curious Koala video,..how I would love one to walk inside my house.:) I hope all is well with you, take care dear Linda.X

Ha, ha I've seen that "back of Mt Rushmore" before since I grew up about 20 miles away. We used to have postcards that showed a row of bare butts. :)
